Nobody likes to arrive at a property while renovating and seeing scaffolding on the outside. The room however was nice and comfortable. Shower had rust on it. No Kleenex in room. Location is great. Staff very friendly

The saff was amazing!! They are having some work done at the front so it is a little messy, but nothing too serious. We stayed 3 nights and never once heard any loud music or anything nice an quiet. The only ding woukd be the breakfast. Not much of a variety the old toast, oatmeal,waffles. Wish they had a better breakfast it would make this place a must destination.

We had a great stay here in July! The property is just off (behind- 1/2 a block in) the Main Street and at the intersection where there’s a trolley stop. Very convenient and cheap access to the “downtown” area while the hotel itself was located right at/ across the street (1/2 a block) from the beach. We were able to wake up and go straight to the beach and then come back, shower, and head to dining and the Galveston city attractions. We chose to leave our car and take the trolley or uber into town so as not to have to worry about finding or paying for parking during a holiday weekend. That was easy! While in Galveston, we enjoyed a walking ghost tour the first night, (it was hokey yet fun & gave us a feel for the history of the island), great dining at Gaido’s, Katie’s, The Spot, and Brick House Tavern. On Friday morning (4th of July!) we hit Pleasure Pier when it opened and road all the rides, saw the interactive 4-D movies and enjoyed almost no lines!!! There was a very festive and full parade in the afternoon (super crowded but fun) and fireworks in the evening! Be sure to make a reservation for dinner on parade night or you’ll end up waiting a while!!! It was a great visit and the Baymont a convenient and clean home base (that didn’t break the bank!)

Seemed overpriced for what we got. The breakfast had no savory options, just waffles, bread, cereal, and muffins. No protein. Very poor water pressure and water was always hot. House cleaning was every other day, meaning we didn't get our room cleaned the entire duration of our 2 night stay. It was a convenient distance from the beach, but only had sidewalks for about half of it with no street lighting at night. Staff was friendly. Very thin doors where you can hear everyone's conversations in the hallway, but almost no sound coming between rooms, just from the hallway. Narrow walkways making it difficult to maneuver the cart.
