The room was so tiny! The bed was shoved against the wall so you couldn't get out on that side at all.The bed was hard and we both had a backache the next day. It has new owners so we had to pay AGAIN and wait 2 weeks for a refund. There is no one onsite and you have to text/email for everything- like where are extra blankets. There's also no thermostat control in the room. There's no closet or drawers for your clothes.
The room was clean. There is no early check in available. Doors don't unlock until 4, but we were able to make arrangements via messages for luggage drop-off before that.
Got a text the day before the booking that the property is under renovation and that I need to get another hotel, so I had to book another one last minute.
Dropped off by Uber, we found they were closed for renovation. NO Notice!
We were stranded and wound up paying for an expensive room, requiring a 45 minute walk!
We tried calling and couldnt get anyone. After a long day traveling we showed up only to find a locked house with note on the door saying the property had been sold. We ended up having to spend more money and search for a hotel that night.
We drove almost 600 miles to find out that they didnt have a room. Was a note saying the building sold and they had zero rooms. This is on lone star rally night so finding another place was a nightmare. 0/10 thankfully hotels.com refunded our money
The house is a welcoming and quiet venue for quiet rest and overnight stays. Room 4 was small and cramped, but the queen sized bed was wedged into the room but was very comfortable. There was no room to walk around it. There was an in room bathroom that was clean and cramped, but it was convenient. We were able to walk to close by restaurants for dinner and breakfast. We then walked to the pier for embarkation for a cruise.
This is a great small "guest house" type of location. The rooms are spare but very clean and there's a coffee bar for the morning. The location is perfect, right on the edge of the Strand District with easy walking to restaurants, shopping and attractions. Easy walk to the Carnival cruise ship docks as well. Despite proximity to the district it's still set back in the residential area and therefore quiet in the evenings.
It was a quaint little room. Close enough to the port so we could walk. We couldnât find where we could control the temperature, still too warm. Ceiling fan was ticking so had a hard time sleeping. Toilet kept running and shower was leaking.
Check in was a mess but once we got checked in we found out that the air conditioner was not working, in the entire facility! On top of that there were tiny bugs, not bed bugs, on the blankets and the sheets were also dirty. Jade did her best to try and fix the issue, but nothing was able to be resolved. I spoke to her and she did tell me that they would issue a refund since the heat was horrible, but after hotels.com tried reaching out to them this was not the case. I am so disgusted that I paid so much for a room and was absolutely miserable the entire time. I would never stay here again.
This was an excellent lodging option while visiting the island. There are no frills, and no amenities beyond a very clean comfortable room (bed is so cozy). The location was perfect and is close to Down Town Galveston and the fisherman's Warf. The hotel is in close proximity to the cruse lines so if you need a nights stay while you await your cruises boarding, this is the perfect spot.
Perfect location for our night stay before our cruise, very close to the port. Very small space so it was adequate and what we needed for a nights stay for 2. Note: no closet or storage space so travel light when taking bags for your stay here. It wasnât as cool as we would have liked it but the ceiling fan helped.
The bathroom sink is way too small it's pretty much cut in half. There is no counter space for your toiletries or clothing. The sheets and comforters had several stains and they need some kind of pleasant scent in the rooms and entrance. I understand it's an old building but it smells way too old.
