Loved the location so close to Beaver Mountain, great views, lots of beds. It was great for our group of 10 for a family ski vacation. Very cozy. A couple small things like hot water, fireplace, needing more spoons, etc. were necessary to improve but the company was helpful when needed.
This cabin was in a great location and is also pretty run down. There was a sign at the door that said to remove your shoes upon entering, which we did. Our feet were BLACK after 10 minutes of walking around the cabin.
The stairs leading up to the deck are a death trap. We shimmied a board underneath them to keep them from breaking further. They put a log next to the banister for you to sit on and when you lean back you quickly realize you can't because the whole banister moves and many spindles are falling out.
There are some holes in the walls and doors. The AC isn't great at cooling down the house and the downstairs bunk beds are a creaky symphony all through the night.
It would be good if they took the money from the VRBO and put it back into sprucing up the place and didn't require you to remove your shoes if they don't have deep cleaned floors.
There were TV's in every room but many didn't pull up anything. If the TV's work, instructions next the TV would be helpful. It would have been nice if they had some games or books available as well. For the amount of money per night it should have been a much nicer cabin but my guess is you are like us and we had no other options for the time we wanted to reserve it. Beggars can't be choosers but they can give feedback when asked. ;)
Our extended family enjoyed a wonderful Bear Lake adventure this last weekend!
Our cabin home away from home was spacious, comfortable and had a spectacular view!! Thank you Worthen host and Vascasa for a great stay!!
Everything was amazing. Great view and location. Beds are little hard and one of the couches was super dirty. The property itself was well kept up. The only issue I had was the fridge froze the majority of our food and we was not able to make it to the closest store Mike's to get additional food to eat which it made it quite frustrating. I would stay again if and when I go back out there.
It was a great experience! We enjoyed our stay, the only recommendation would be to provide wifi troubleshooting instructions. Like a sticker on the router we had some issues with the WiFi, but will def
Wish I could give higher ratings. Weâre regular VRBO users and never rate poorly. However, this property was neglected and in poor condition. Washer did not work properly, dryer vent was disconnected and even when we fixed it, it would take forever to dry one load. Items were broken (lights and lamp shades, fridge tray, door locks, just for example). Very dirty and dusty. Jetted tubs blew out black mold if turned on. We also could not figure out why different rooms had a very distinct smell of urine. đ I had to email the management just to get info on location and such 2 days before trip. Overall, the location (proximity to downtown area) and view from cabin was excellent!, but house was in disarray. We wonât book this property again.
It seemed a little worn out. The check out said to start a load of towels. When we did, there was already a load of towels in the washer that had started to mold. The washer only runs on delicate cycle, so how clean can you get the towels and sheets on delicate cycle. The dishwasher leaks in the corner cupboard across the lazy susan. The fridge is missing a glass top to a drawer so you canât use that shelf.
While its a nice cozy cabin with a beautiful view of the lake, the owner clearly filled the home with as many of the cheapest amenities as possible to make it seem like the cabin has more to offer than it really does.
Pros:
- Beautiful View
- Cozy Ambiance
- Cute Theme
- Nice Layout
- Accommodates a large family (didn't matter for me)
- Close to Restaurants/Stores
- Right next to the marina
- A moose visited
Cons:
- Basic Cable Package (nothing worth watching)
- A/C doesn't work well (resets to 74 every few hours, it felt like 85-90)
- All Beds are stiff (my whole family had back pain)
- Grill doesn't work
- Dirty cookware
- Basic Cookware (Bring your own if you plan to cook)
- Only cleaned on the surface (water bottle caps and crumbs clearly visible under the couches, found previous renters socks tucked in the side of the couch)
- Broken Dishwasher (Vacasa disrupted my stay by sending a repairman without request)
There was a water leak downstairs our stuff got wet, I reported it it wasnât faxed , everything was kind of a mess ,not very tidy tons of weeds around the house can play in the backyard vessel everywhere need some upkeep
The property was very nice. Things were clean and in good condition and the view was fantastic. There were a few energy drink cans in the yard when we arrived but we cleaned them up. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at the Worthen cabin!
We loved all the space here and the view of the lake was beautiful on the wrap around deck! The only thing that would have elevated our stay would be a firepit or private hot tub but it did have a community pool and hot tub that we thoroughly enjoyed!
We enjoyed our stay at the Worthen cabin at Bear Lake. There were lots of beds and the view from the porch was beautiful. We enjoyed ping pong and it was nice there was a tv in each bedroom. The kitchen should have had more items...a 9x13 pan, measuring cups (not a full set), etc. etc. We had to call for the repair person several times...the internet went out twice and we couldn't change the channels on the main tv. The heated stove in the family room never worked even after they looked at it. They came quickly when we called for repairs.
