Twinnessee Escape is located inside the beautiful Douglas Lake Resort. Amenities abound in this calm serene resort, lake-shore walking trails, lots of wooded area, in ground large swimming pool (no lifeguards, swim at your own risk) with lots of poolside furnishings. There is a large playground for kids as well as a large fire pit for late night campfires, making smores and memories ! The loading ramp for your boat the docks and fishing piers are also located there. There is an additional parking lot for boats and trailers and extra vehicles in your group. All of this is within walking distance of the cabin. Making this log cabin in the perfect location within the resort.
Twinnessee Escape offers 3 bedrooms 2 baths and sleeps 8. The log cabin is an authentic log home and is very tastefully furnished. On the main level is a wrap around deck located in the treetops so you have lots of privacy here and there is always a nice cool breeze blowing thru the porch. Entering the main level of the cabin you have a nice large eat in kitchen and open floor plan leading right to the den which features a flat screen TV and cozy sitting area with a fireplace. The Queen size master bedroom with in suite bath is located on this level.
Downstairs on the lower level of the cabin is a game room area with a pool table, cards, board games, checkers and a TV & DVD player. There are 2 bedrooms and a bath downstairs as well. 1 bedroom is a full and the other bedroom is a full bed with a slide out twin trundle bed. also just added is a twin size roll away bed. There is also a large deck off this level making lots of room for everyone.
Twinnessee Escape is lakeside with total wooded privacy and just a short walk down to the lake and all the amenities the resort has to offer. You couldn’t ask for a better vacation spot as Twinnessee Escape offers it all !!!

Very spacious, nice decor, very close to the water, the pool and the playground. Only CON was not as clean as I feel it should be I would stay again as long as the cleaning has improved

We really enjoyed our stay here. Even with neighboring cabins, it still felt very private and was also very peaceful. I was very happy to discover that there was a built in babygate at the stairs as well. I would definitely rent this cabin again!

Needs some work
Let me start by saying the lake was beautiful and although this cabin is nice, it definitely lacks certain amenities such as hot water. If you want even a warm shower you’re not going to get one here. Water barely comes out of kitchen sink. Probably needs a new faucet. Parking was a major challenge as they have the entire side of the property blocked off yet nobody is working on the road. TV down stairs does not work and there’s barely enough seating upstairs. We had to go purchase a DVD player because there is not one and channel selection was not very good. We were at pool one day and the next day they posted a huge sign saying it was closed due to a Tennessee mandate. What mandate??? Not one other pool in area was closed. With this being said we did enjoy our vacation but will probably choose wiser on our next visit.

Cabin was nice, but had poor water pressure. There was no lake view due to the mature trees. The short walk to the lake was fine, but the walk up was difficult due to the steep road. The lake was stunning and warm. The kids loved swimming off the docks. Pool area was also nice. It was a good 25 minute drive to any tourist attractions. The pool table kept the kids occupied, and the outdoor space was amazing! Would rent this place again.

Nice cabin, needs some TLC
Very nice little cabin, but minor things detracted from the overall experience. The glasses were dirty, the toilet paper holder in the downstairs bathroom was broken, the deck door downstairs was cracked so the metal retention bit fell out, there was no internet, the tv in the upstairs bedroom didn't work. The pool turned out to be down a rather steep hill that was non-trivial to climb back up. That said, the cabin itself is very well-appointed, nicely furnished, beautiful inside. Thick trees around it, very woodsy feel from the decks, just a pretty little gem. My teenage children loved it, and were talking about coming back.

Family vacation
We were so excited about this trip. I had been planning it for months reading reviews, researching and having a plan. I was disappointed about the view and that's it!! The cabin is beautiful and well laid out. We have 3 children, 2 boys 14 and 15 and an 11 year old daughter. The boys mostly stayed down stairs in their on quarters. They enjoyed playing pool and just having their on space. It was just a short distance to the docks/boat ramp to fish. Pool is right by the boat ramp so we all just drove down together. We booked this property for the fishing access and I thought there would be more banks to fish than there was. You don't have your own bank to fish with this property you either drive 30 mins to a public marina/ boat ramp or you just fish the boat dock at the ramp access which was being repaired and had caution tape up while we were there. OK so my review on the view I thought we would have......if you stand on the top deck almost in front of the grill and look through the thick trees at an angle and tilt your head there is a little glimmer of water but that's it. If the under brush and trees were maintained you would have a wonderful view but who knows that may not even be there property to keep up could be owned by someone else. So my overall view is 5 stars. We had a wonderful stay and the community was peaceful. Roads are twisted a good bit if you get car sick easily.
