Take a 3 hour drive from Tbilisi to Mt Kazbek in the North of Georgia - the views along this military highway are spectacular.
This road through the Sno Valley provides access to hiking in the mountains above Juta. The first few kilometers are paved, but the road quickly turns into a steep and narrow primitive road, which is easily doable in a Russian-built Lada Niva 4x4. #lifeatexpedia #roadtrip #mountains #georgia
Kazbegi National Park is located in the Caucasus Mountains in northern Georgia and covers an area of 8707 hectares. Mountainous and rugged, it contains spectacular gorges and canyons carved from the rock by the Tergi River.

Near Abano Pass, Kakheti region, Georgia

View southeast of the road from Kvemo Alvani village in Kakheti region to Omalo in Tusheti region. This is the first range of Caucasus from south. The road is mere 50 km, but it takes 5 hours with 4WD Lada Niva or UAZ jeep to ascend and descend the Abano pass in altitude 2.950 meters. The road goes up along the river in the forrests and finally through green meadows to Abano pass, crossing dozens of water streams on the way and offering breathtaking sceneries to the valley behind all the time... 2.600 meters up, 1.300 meters down to Omalo in Tusheti.
