Enjoy breathtaking wine country views and spectacular sunsets from Cavedale Ridge, a peaceful hillside retreat. On the vast Pool Deck off the Chef's Kitchen, swim, lounge, grill, dine, and relax in the spa. And then in the evenings, star-gaze around the Fire Pit.

All four Primary Suites offer similar standards of accommodation: space, privacy, comfort and modern bathrooms. This makes Cavedale Ridge ideal for four couples, groups of adults, or extended family gatherings.

Choose from different places for dining – perhaps lunch under the olive trees, then cocktails or dinner watching the spectacular sunsets from the Pool Deck, Covered Porch or Indoor Dining area.

Cavedale Ridge overlooks Sonoma Valley with the wineries and restaurants of historic Sonoma, Glen Ellen and Kenwood only a 20 minute drive away. Napa Valley is a 45 minute drive over the mountain.


YEAR ROUND VACATION
Cavedale Ridge is idyllic at any time of year. In the Summer, the Pool (heated from Memorial Day weekend through September), Spa (year-round) and Deck are the focus of activity. During Spring and Fall, the folding doors between the Kitchen and Pool Deck create an Indoor/Outdoor Living space that you can flex according to the weather. They also give instant access to the Spa and Firepit. Even in the Winter, the light-filled interiors with panoramic views make this an uplifting and warm retreat. At night, year-round, the Firepit comes into its own. There are three internet-enabled TVs and Starlink wifi with speeds of over 60Mbps.

● Entrance Level: Chef’s Kitchen, Open-plan Dining and Living Room leading onto the Pool Deck; and Garden Suite (a Primary Suite that can be made up as a King or as Twins).
● 2nd Floor: Sky Suite (Primary with King).

Guest House reached via external steps:
● Guest House Suite (Primary with King) and own Living space and Wet Bar.

Across Covered Porch from Guest House:
● Sunset Suite (Primary with King)
● Office

The Guest House, Sunset Suite and Office share a large Covered Porch with valley views.


A/C AND HEATING
The Main House enjoys under-floor heating throughout, with in-room air-conditioning in the bedrooms only. In the Guest House there is central air-conditioning and heating. The Sunset Suite and office have underfloor heating and air-conditioning.

WINE-TASTING, YOGA AND MASSAGE
We can recommend local private chefs, drivers, wine tour drivers and visiting yoga, reiki and massage services.

NEED TO KNOW
There are security cameras covering the parking area.
This is a rural location with a steep, narrow and windy access road. Particularly nervous drivers are discouraged. No parties are allowed on the property but guests are rewarded with serenity, luxury and a real escape!
Garden service is every other week and pool service is weekly. Neither require access indoors so should not affect guests.

The closest airport is Santa Rosa (STS), about 45 minutes' drive away with nonstop service from several airports in the LA area plus Phoenix, Dallas, San Diego, Portland, Seattle and Las Vegas. Other airports within 2 hours are San Francisco (SFO), Oakland (OAK) and Sacramento (SMF).

What a gorgeous house with spectacular views. Celebrated my 40th with 7 girlfriends and it was absolutely perfect. Communicating with the owner and property manager was easy and they got back to you in a timely manner. The location was great too. Exactly everything you want and need in a rental close to Sonoma and not far from Napa. We all had a great time and was an amazing experience. Will be coming back in the future.

It is a wonderful property that was perfect for our group of 7. The property had everything we needed for an enjoyable week of wine tasting and relaxing with our friends.. The views are amazing, the home is spacious with a wonderful layout. Cavedale Road is not for the faint of heart but well worth the drive up the mountain. PJ, the property manager, was great!

Beautiful property!! Amazing views. All accommodations were as advertised and very well maintained. The alternate routing to get there right now is a significant inconvenience and not a drive for the faint of heart.I recommend the property manger meet guests at checkin to go over some of the property nuisance. We figured things out but it would have helped.Overall loved our stay. Will be back

The property and all amenities were fantastic and as described. Contact with the property manager was timely, accurate and helpful. The person who set up the property for our arrival went above and beyond to accommodate our needs for our 3 year old as well as providing local area knowledge. Unfortunately the usual road from the highway to the property was closed for road work which added an additional 15-20 minutes ( guesstimate) travel time on a single lane winding mountain road.

Amazing Sonoma Mountain Retreat

The house was phenomenal and we truly enjoyed our stay. The bedrooms all have large beds and bathrooms and are separate which provided nice privacy. The hot tub, common areas, and view were all amazing.

Beautiful property with beautiful views!!!

Our group of 6 absolutely loved this property! From the spacious bedroom suites, to the spacious kitchen, to the pool and hot tub. Then, there was the firepit that was used every day. You will find so much to love!

My family booked this property for a week starting Dec 8. Four days before our trip, the host (who is based in London) notified us that the main road to the house was closed due to a mudslide and that this would only add "13 extra minutes to Glen Ellen and 20 extra minutes to Sonoma." This information was inaccurate as it actually takes over 40 min just to get from the house to the main road alone and the road is extremely curvy and steep. The host said he had just found out about the road closure when he told us on December 3, which makes the review dated December 8 confusing. Public records show the mudslide took place on Nov 22, so why did the host not inform us of the road issue if his other guests had known about this? We planned our stay based on the host's description of the house, being 20 minutes from nearby restaurants and wineries. Due to the length of time and extreme difficulty getting to and from the home, requiring a drive up and then back down the mountain, on a single lane road, we had no choice but to find a different home for our vacation. Had the host been transparent and honest with us, we would never have made a final payment, nor would we have wasted 2 days of our vacation finding and moving to a new property that was actually 20 minutes from town. The host eventually reimbursed us for 57% of our stay but only after we contacted VRBO and initiated a dispute. This house has nice views, but the host is difficult to work with, the house is isolated

Beautiful Mountaintop Villa

We had an awesome stay at Cavedale Villa. The view was spectacular. The road to get there is not for the faint of heart, especially since the main road was closed due to a recent mudslide, but that just added to the “adventure”. The location gave us good access to both Sonoma and Napa, although it took us about 40 minutes to get to either side due to the redirection from the mudslide. The Villa had been updated and was in good shape. The four separate master suites worked well for our group of 8. If you are looking for beautiful views and isolation, I recommend this rental.

The photos do not come near adequately showing just how special this place is. We had a group of 4 couples and the layout was perfect. While we had wine tastings scheduled daily, the highlight was returning to the house each afternoon to watch the sunset. Perfect location and perfect house for large groups. Hope to enjoy again!

This property is amazing! It is well appointed, very spacious and the views are incredible. Anything our group of 5 adults needed was at our fingertips. The property manger was easily available to answer our questions. We were initially nervous with the road to the house, however we very quickly adjusted and enjoyed the ride. Amazing Friend Vaca

I can't say enough about this beautiful home. We had 4 couples and plenty of space for all of us. The kitchen and bedrooms had everything that we could have possibly needed even with the chef that came in to cook us a meal. The views were spectacular and we really enjoyed sitting by the fire or hot tub enjoying them. I hope to be back again to enjoy more wineries.

3rd time back, Magical as always!

Our 3rd time at the property and still left in awe of this amazing home and team that supports its renters. We won the rain/storm lottery this year but it was actualy awesome to be on site safe and sound watching the clouds and weather roll up the valley sitting in front of the fireplace indoors and outside at the most amazing fire pit in the world during breaks in the weather. The hot tub was perfect! The new additions opening up downstairs for a 2nd master suite were really appreciated! Internet was fast as in previous stays for streaming and meetings. PJ who is the nearby white glove service contact is a great and fast communicator and even made extra trips to receive some late mail order food that was delivered to the property to make sure it wasn’t returned. Thanks PJ again! We had a chef come in this time and they and we are still very appreciative of all the gourmet kitchen has to offer— nice glassware, decanter, restaurant quality kitchen equipment— and stovetops, fridge space and a wine/champagne chiller to let anyone shine. The fire pit is the crown jewel of the property— you have to spend a few hours out there unplugging from everything and you’ll know what I’m talking about! The whole home and property held up during the rain, we all felt comfy and secure during the 5” of rain we got. The road is great after its repaving a couple years ago. All in all 5 stars for the property and crew and service-- We will be back!

Amazing trip away from the city! The drive up the hill is best during the day.. it bit scratchy at times, but that was because we have 6 people in a large SUV.. cars are no problem.
