This is an older building, so quirky and a little dated - that’s ok. The bathroom was a little challenging, but everything is there that you need. The cooked breakfast was excellent value for money and freshly cooked. We have never stayed anywhere so spotlessly clean . So lots of positives - not least value for money in a location so near the city centre. However, it would have been helpful to have been informed that the carpark was at the back and how to get there. The only real disappointment was the bed in our room - so uncomfortable that I had hardly any sleep during our 2 night stay. However, I do understand that what I found uncomfortable may have been fine for someone else.

I was in room 18 a single room - it was large for a single with 30" smart television, microwave, small fridge, good size ensuite - everything was in perfect condition. Breakfast was an optional £8.50 for full English and well worth it. Only negative was it was ground floor with a bit traffic noise.

Home away from home

We had a lovely time at the hotel. Very homely but with a hotel feel the fridge and microwave is a real game changer old school charm with lots of English character quiet street and close to city centre so great location. Worth a visit if you haven’t been.

Lovely welcome, room nice. Fabulous location for me & my friend working at Cheltenham racecourse. Great pub 2 mins away with home cooked fantastic food - Englands Glory. Booked to go back next year. Highly recommend.

A superb stay

Lovely Edwardian room with high ceilings. The room also offers a fridge, microwave and also tea/coffee making facilities. Nice big telly too instead of the usual small ones. The breakfast was excellent. Very friendly staff and very helpful. I would definitely stay again

This is a no fuss, no frills hotels. It is managed by an attentive and hard working duo. Note that there are stairs that lead to many of the rooms- pack your suitcase light!

Edward Hotel Gloucester

This hotel was a bit like going back in time 20 or 30 years. It had good parking (though I didn’t use this as I came by train), great service from the owners, a lovely open fire and an excellent breakfast. My room was quite small but it had everything I needed and was fine for 1 night.

Stayed 2 nights, room was clean and was a good size with king bed which was very comfortable. Ensuite was also of a good size with bath and over bath shower. Nice touch to have a fridge and microwave in the room. We opted not to have breakfast as we prefer to eat later. Great to have private on site parking. Service was unobtrusive 1st morning there was a basket left outside every room with fresh towels and tea, coffee supplies. Staff dont enter the room unless requested to do so. The hotel is well placed for visiting Gloucester City Centre it is about 10 - 15 minute walk into the centre all flat. Will stay here again as we visit regularly to see friends, would definitely recommend the Edward Hotel.
