The room facilities weren’t great. The unsecured Wi-Fi doesn’t pass cyber security measures and there was no effective mobile signal. The TV and radio channels were extremely limited to only BBC, ITV, And C4/5.
The room wasn’t hoovered during the stay.
Power sockets were hidden behind tables so charging phones was difficult. The shaver power socket was dead. There were no tissues in the room.
Given the lack of facilities, it was a challenging stay for a solo traveller (two of my four nights) and it made planning the days out harder.
It would have been useful to have more details about what was going on locally - including that the very nearby English Heritage Roman Villa was closed but the local area was great.
The staff were ok - not massively friendly. For a Greene King property it was either sad or amusing to overhear them heavily criticise Fullers pubs.
It felt like the property was more orientated to weddings and events rather than stays.
The food was a tad expensive for what it was.
