No member of staff to check me in. Just a mate doing a favour who stated… ‘He wasn’t being paid and didn’t care if we stayed. You people with money come expecting it to be 4* or 5*, it the bottom of the barrel, the pits go and stay at…’ At this point I hadn’t even got through the door, the guy was aggressive and hostile, I had only told him my name and that I had booked. After listening to home rant I said again I’ve booked that I had just flown from the UK and needed a room to sleep in. I wasn’t worried about its stars and I’m not a person with a lot of money trying to find something for nothing as implied. He then looked at the booking and realised he’d given a walk-in my room believing them to be my booking. He said he had one more room. By now 25 minutes had gone by and I was struggling to stand. I have multiple sclerosis. The guy had now calmed down and was engaging with me but now everything was about religion and him. By the time I got back to my car 4 minutes had pasted. I took my wife up three flights of stairs, we are both disabled and had booked a ground floor room. When we entered the room we found live cockroaches in the bathroom and dead squashed cockroaches throughout the small room. After pulling back the sheets and exposing the mattress we found evidence of bedbugs. We locked the keys in the room and left the accommodation. It was not sanitary to stay there.

Only stayed here due to an impromptu weekend away, but place could do with some work, obviously just get pelted by a storm, but room had flakey paint everywhere, hot water system needs work, family of 4 couldn't shower for dinner because the hot water runs out. Unfortunately probably won't be back anytime soon.

The room smelt the sliding door to the balcony came off the TV kept on going off there was a sign in the room saying due to cyclone Alfred the tv may not work the cyclone was 2 years ago They took a 200 dollar bond and as yet I haven’t received the bond back

I used to live in the area, so everything was familiar and comfortable. The service was great, the staff were friendly and helpful. Hopefully I can book in again for my next trip to the Gold Coast as it definitely was value for money 👌

The room was very clean and well supplied for an appartment stay. Main issue - we had a room on the second floor - no lifts, so had to lug bags up four flights of stairs... but obviously we didn't research enough. Other comments - rather run down but that is to be expected in a property of this age and price. If cosmetices and stairs aren't a problem, I'd highly recommend this property.
