Great stay at The Island Hotel in Surfers Paradise. Perfect location, comfortable rooms and a really fun, relaxed vibe. Staff were friendly and helpful, and everything was clean and well looked after. Would definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone wanting to be right in the heart of Surfers.

For the price, it’s not worth it. It’s okay, but the outside noise is very noisy. Bathroom is so small. And there is a Lack of bathroom amenities for the price. The car park is an additional $25.00 per night and entry to the carpark is very low. Location is great, but there are definitely better hotels with the same great location for that price.

We had a mixed experience at The Island Gold Coast. The first impressions weren’t great. Whilst the reception area was clean and the receptionist very smart and helpful, the decor was tired and outdated. The exterior looked more like a shabby 2-star. After a swift check-in we took the lift to our floor. The lift was disgusting - the doors were scratched and dirty, as was the interior of the lift, and the floor was damaged and dirty. At our floor the corridor was unpleasant with old single glazed windows and glue-down carpet tiles. The hotel room was also a mix - the bed was comfortable and the bedding clean. Some of the furniture was modern and there were good toiletries and coffee/tea provided. However, the carpet tiles again looked and felt unclean, the shower handle was broken, the fridge appeared to be very old, the balcony doors were loose and let outside noise into the room. Overall, we didn’t enjoy our stay here. We thought it was very over-priced and overrated.

Paying guests should have parking included. No option for a second car to park. Lifts were a bit gungy but otherwise overall it was convenient and good.

The room was very poor. Aircon did not work and there was no natural ventilation. Bad smell. Bathroom was very poor. Everything was broken or not far off. The downstairs bar was fun and had a good atmosphere but the room itself was only marginally better than a nice hostel.

A superb beachside hotel. From check-in with the delightful receptionist through to a clean room, superb bathroom and balcony everything was excellent! Downstairs the bar and bar staff are excellent!
