Located on the northern edge of Grand Rapids, this cozy retreat puts you close to all the shopping, dining, and events the city has to offer

Enjoy peaceful views of McKinney Lake from the living and dining room window and wake up to a serene pine forest view in the bedroom. Step outside to relax around the firepit in your private outdoor space—perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring.

The space includes a full kitchen, dining area, 2 bedrooms, and bathroom—everything you need to feel at home.

Please note: the fireplace in the living room is no longer a working fireplace and is purely decorative.

PLEASE NOTE SHARED SPACES:
- The single bathroom is accessed through one of the bedrooms. All guests will need to navigate through the back bedroom to access the bathroom.
- The central laundry and cleaning closet is attached to the back of the cabin. The Cleaning Crew may be in and out of that space during the day - typically between the hours of 11am and 4pm.
- Please note: the fireplace in the living room is no longer a working fireplace and is purely decorative.
- The rear parking lot and north driveway are for the shared use of our guests in the adjacent rental units please do not block their access or parking spaces
- Feel free to use the back yard space but note that this space is also for the shared use of our other guests.

For safety and security of our guests and property, the exterior of the property is monitored by surveillance cameras. Please do not cover or disable them.

Outdoor amenities:
Enjoy a private backyard with peaceful forest views, a fire pit for cozy evenings, ladder golf for a bit of fun, and a shared gas grill for outdoor cooking.

Make yourself at home! You’ll have the whole cabin to yourself, plus access to the shared outdoor areas. Check-in is super easy with a keypad—no need to coordinate arrival times!

I give guests plenty of space to relax and unwind, but I’m always available if you need anything.

If there`s anything that could make your stay more comfortable, just let me know—my goal is for this space to feel like a true escape and retreat. I’m available anytime for emergencies, and during regular hours for any non-urgent questions or issues.

It’s super helpful to have good contact info for someone in your group that is staying at the property, just in case I need to reach out with important updates or to resolve something quickly. If we ever need to stop by, I’ll do my best to let you know ahead of time and will always keep any disruptions to a minimum.

Step right outside and you`re on scenic Highway 38—part of the Edge of the Wilderness Byway. This beautiful, winding route takes you through forests and lakes, and is especially stunning during fall color season!

The cottage is just blocks from top local spots like the Yanmar Arena Event Center, the Reif Performing Arts Center, and the Itasca County Fairgrounds Park & Campground. You’ll also find easy access to gorgeous walking and cross-country ski trails, including the Tioga Trailhead just minutes away.

Hungry or thirsty?
You`re a short drive from local favorites like Rapids Brewing and Klockow Brewing Co., the award-winning UnWined Up North, and cozy coffee shops like Brewed Awakenings—not to mention unique shops and more to explore downtown.

Love golf?
You`re just 10–15 minutes from four great golf courses.

Just so you know—there is an attached unit next door, sharing a wall with your space.

Please be sure to review all house rules when booking! Home is located in a peaceful & quiet community. All guests staying at the home must be considerate of others in the neighboring area. Noise disturbances will not be tolerated.(quiet hours are between 10pm-7am)
Extra guest fees will be charged if more than noted guests stay the night as cleaning/laundry costs go up
No parties or events
Please return all furnishings to their original positions.
Use only firewood that is provided or firewood you purchase. ABSOLUTELY NO cutting of firewood on the property or adjacent properties is allowed.
No burning of trash or any other materials besides firewood.
Keep all outdoor fires within the fire ring.
All Guests must be registered, if the size of your party changes please contact us.
Be gentle with our plumbing, please DO NOT flush anything except toilet paper down the toilet not even “flushable” items.
No Smoking of any kind indoors. Smoking is allowed outdoors take care to dispose of any smoking related refuse responsibly - a $200 penalty will be charged for violations or debris discovered and disposed of by our cleaning crew.
There is NO garbage disposal; do NOT put food, oil or debris down sink or any drains.
Guests interested in booking longer than two weeks will be required to allow our cleaners to access and clean the cottage, at your expense (will be included in monthly fee), every one to two weeks for the duration of your stay. Schedule for cleaning can be discussed and a mutually agreeable time selected.
No sporting equipment allowed in the unit. Please plan to store any sporting equipment outside.
PET FEE: Pets must be included on the reservation and pet fee paid prior to your arrival. Make sure that your dog(s) are included on your reservation and the pet fee has been collected. The pet fee is $50 per dog per stay.
PET LIMITS: We are happy to welcome up to ONE dog. Occasionally exceptions may be made - please reach out if you would like to have more than 1 dog stay. We love animals, but this property is dog-friendly only. Unfortunately, we’re unable to accommodate cats at this time. Thank you for understanding!
PET RULE: Please keep your pets off of all of the furniture including beds. Clean up of pet hair from pet hair will result in extra fees
Please make sure dogs are house-trained, well-behaved, and not left unattended in the home. If you need to step out, we ask that your dog be securely kenneled while you`re away.
This helps ensure a comfortable stay for everyone - both guests, neighbors and future visitors!

PET CLEAN UP: Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their dog. Place pet refuse in a bag (you can use provided pet waste bags) and place the bag in the outdoor trash receptacle. Do not place loose stools in any trash receptacles.
Please clean up thoroughly after your dogs, any dog feces found and cleaned up by our cleaning crew will assess an additional $50 fee per incident
PET DAMAGES: Repair of damage caused by pets indoors or outdoors will incur fees based on the cost of repair or remediation
PET RULE: LEASH / OUTDOORS: Pets must be on leash or in a kennel when outdoors - no exceptions. We do not accept any responsibility or liability for injury or loss due to inattentiveness of pet owners or interaction of pets with neighbors, traffic, wildlife or the natural environment.
