Enjoy the views from the bank of windows and sliding glass doors along the walls that bring natural sunlight into every corner. Chill in the evening by the brick hearth with a wood-burning fireplace as you curl up on the comfy leather furniture. The kitchen is well-equipped with plenty of counter space, and the adjacent dining room overlooks the deck and surrounding woods.

Local Surroundings:
- Black Dog is the perfect spot for exploring the area's best fishing and hiking spots. It's located close to the famous Helton Creek and is just 30 minutes away from Grayson Highlands State Park, where you can journey up the Massie Gap Trail to search for the wild miniature ponies that call the park home. Grayson Highlands offers a plethora of hiking trails, as well as a replica of a mountain settlement that showcases local history.
- From the cabin, downtown West Jefferson is less than 25 minutes away. You can explore the quaint streets to discover an array of shops and galleries, as well as many unique restaurants and breweries. Some of our favorites include Red Dog Bar & Bistro, New River Brewery, and Thong Summit Thai & Sushi, but you can find just about anything to suit your tastes.
- Even closer to the cabin is the town of Lansing, home to Molley Chomper Cidery and the Liar's Bench sandwich shop. Also in Lansing is the historic Creeper Trail Park, where you can walk scenic trails and fish in the historic NC Heritage Trout Waters. The whole family will love it!
- Ready for more adventure? Spend a day canoeing, kayaking, or tubing out on the New River. Bring your own boats and tubes, or journey out to one of the local outfitters to rent all the equipment you need. If you are visiting in the autumn, make sure to take your time and appreciate the fall foliage all around.
- For our winter guests, take a day trip up to Boone for some fun on the slopes at Appalachian Ski Mountain. Ski, snowboard, snow tube, or ice skateâwhatever your heart desires. Downtown Boone also has plenty to offer by way of shopping and dining, so take it easy and enjoy your time there.
