Heliopetra Studios, near beaches
Douliana is a small traditional village, 22 km away. East of the city of Chania, in an area of great natural beauty. The old houses have been rebuilt for holidays and provide a view of traditional life according to the seasons. (Olives and oranges in winter, vegetables and fruits in summer, in autumn wine). All together are 5 Studios and 3 scattered houses in the property, built to ensure privacy and calm, with terraces overlooking a countryside and the sea. From the village, the road leads to the beaches at 3 km, surrounded by the forest, (the nearest KERA is 2.5 km away, and 3 km from Almirida or Kalives beach where Super Markets - newspapers - restaurants are -bars- sports activity center). You can drive or walk a distance by the roadside, in a unique beauty of the forest of cypresses, olive trees and wild plants. You can select, Studio of a separate bedroom with a large room or a house with an additional bedroom on the 1st floor with private terrace. The 5 studios and 3 houses are equipped with kitchen and full bathroom, including all amenities Wi-Fi, air conditioning. Table games, TV, PC and printer, in the common room. Sun loungers, parasols, for the outdoors. Swimming pool to share. All studios have their own terrace and unlimited views. welcome basket including breakfast for the needs of the first day, sheets and towels included, cleaning once a week.
We had a lovely apartment, spacious and cool (air con is great!), huge double room above living (and kidsâ sleeping) space. Quiet village, not at all âtouristyâ, and a really peaceful place to stay. We had a terrace outside the bedroom, great spot to sit in the evening and watch the sun set over Souda bay.
Ground floor terrace with patio furniture, lovely spot to eat (although apartment cooking facilities are very limited â donât stay here if youâre the sort who loves to cook on holiday!). Clean, sheets and towels were changed about every 3 days, washing machine in communal office area.
Friendly owner who responded very quickly to text messages about minor issues. Pool was larger than we expected, very clean and well maintained with plenty of loungers and umbrellas. Lovely setting, well maintained and lots of flowers around so very pretty.
Excellent, good value family-run taverna right next door â some quiet music in the evening, but wonât disturb (except the night we were there and they had a very noisy wedding reception until the small hours!!). Our boys (10 and 13) loved it, especially the pool.
Hele leuke locatie! Dank.
A nice and quiet place away from the touristic trouble
We really enjoyed staying in Douliana. It's a remote place a little away from the more touristic places. Quiet, good restaurants and a very nice pool. We would recommend. Thanks!
Awesome place- very nice accommodations- peaceful village with tavernas and small square, beautiful views. Hostess was very helpful. I would highly recommend.
At the tail end of August my wife and I had two great weeks exploring the west of Crete using Kostoula's property as a base. The studio flat was fantastic and our hostess, very helpful. You need a car, but Crete itself is so big, a car is always going to be a must if you want to see as much of the island as possible. The flat was spotless on arrival and the small complex it sat within was ideal for chilling out after the exertions of the day. You would not be disappointed if you chose to stay here
