This was our 3rd stay at Harborfront. We enjoy staying here because the room is very clean and staff very nice. They offer a continental bfast, as well. Hotel is close to restaurants and wineries. April is considered off season so many of the restaurants/stores are closed and will open soon. We were suprised that we were charged a parking fee of 20.00 a night. I think if you stay at this hotel you should have free parking. Other than that, this hotel is a good place to stay.

This review is for room 113. If you have the misfortune of being assigned this room, do your best to change it. It is sandwiched between the elevator and the staff room. The noise of the elevator dinging and moving was the entire time. The banging of the staff door started at 5:30am. The view from the window is directly onto the parking lot and smoking area. So there is no privacy to open the shades or fresh air to open the windows. Positive notes, the large shower with jets, nice body products, spacious room, bar refrigerator, and nice carpet. Walking distance to restaurants, shops, and the Shelter Island ferry.

The two king beds room (#310) on the third floor had a bit of an unpleasant smell (stale carpet? dirty mop was used to wipe down the room?). We didn't report it and left the balcony door open to air it. But the second room (#113) was large, spacious and clean. We all had a comfortable night's sleep. Staff were really nice. Location was AWESOME! Thanks for a lovely stay overall!

Exceptional staff but Beware of hidden charges

The Harbor Front is a lovely small hotel in the beautiful village of Greenport, the site of a Bohacks Grocery store in the 50' s and 60's. The staff is very accommodating and pleasant. The young man provided menus for restaurants we were interested in checking out. He gave us an upgraded room- well for $30 extra dollars per night- not a problem and we were happy to have a cozy balcony a partial view of Greenport Harbor and escape the exposure to car exhaust with a first floor room. The room was spacious but the rug had huge spots that were discolored from cleaning. The mim fridge was stocked with a variety of drinks and snacks. The freshly baked croissants were an outstanding part of the free breakfast. Because we were charged a daily resort fee, is breakfast truly free? There was not free bottled water in the room although it was well stocked. On check out I was shocked to have an added percentage of the room rate added each night for the resort fee. There's no pool in the winter and only 2 guests are allowed in the fitness room. Then the front desk had to audacity to say he would waive the daily parking fee... WHAT DAILY PARKING FEE - off season no less - no notification on check in of a parking fee. There is plenty of FREE municipal parking nearby where a guest could part. I'm certain the young man was just doing his job but nothing about a daily parking fee was mentioned on check in. I can say ALL of the staff was professional, helpful, engaging and polite.

Nice place to stop for the night.

Nice place to stop for the night. Really cute town . The staff was super nice some things in the room need to be fixed. The water dripped all night and I could not take a shower because the handle was broken and by the time I got it to work I had to check out. The kids gone in the room was also broken. Other than that everything else was great. Breakfast offered was a little more limited than a usual continental breakfast however the coffee was great and the girl maintaining it was wonderful and very friendly.
