This was the perfect rental. We wanted a truly quiet place with water access. Iâm not sure if we picked the right time but it was perfect and private.
Heavenly Hideaway was an excellent location for our stay in Greenville. The property is beautiful and the camp has everything you need for a comfortable stay. When we weren't out exploring we enjoyed the great deck out back. Lower Wilson Pond and the Rum Ridge area far exceeded our expectations. If anything the listing undersells how great this camp is. To our surprise there was a network of trails around the Rum Ridge Association so our first adventure was hiking the shared waterfront of the pond. There is no shortage of things to do nearby. We made the trek into the North Maine Woods to see the Allagash trains at Eagle Lake. If you do the same make sure you have a capable vehicle and multiple methods of navigation. We were able to download Google maps offline and get there turn by turn. We did however have the trusty Delorme atlas as a backup. One word of caution, Sias Hill Rd is a road in name only. I've driven down better cow paths. Next we stopped at the B52 Memorial. Closer to Greenville we hiked Big Moose Mountain. Well worth the effort for spectacular views at the top. We also hiked Mt. Kineo after taking the ferry from the Rockwood dock. We had our dogs with us so we took the bridle trail up and down. The fire tower at the top of Kineo also delivers great views. My wife enjoyed the locals shops in Greenwood and all of our meals in town were great. Cafe Crepe, Kelly's Landing and Jamo's Pizza all delivered. Heavenly Hideaway provided great value for our stay!
