Dreadful

I would recommend to avoid this place at all costs as this isn’t a hotel by any standards. Bed is horrible and headrest hosts swarm of moths. I read other reviews saying that there are bedbugs but we cannot say anything about that as few minutes in the room, I used the complimentary WiFi to book another hotel ( Yarborough hotel), and simply left there. I asked for a refund but got denied. I apologize for saying this (as people working there are all lovely) but this is a proper dump and shouldn’t be hosted by hotels.com. Also, toilet didn’t flush.

WOW WOW WOW what a diferance the hotel now looks like a hotel we have stayed there a lot and it always looked like it was unloved but this time it looks like its been loved up its the first time we didnt have anything to moan about well done st james i have just booked our next stay

Very dated it was like being in a time warp. Needs a lot of work otherwise not a bad stay. Paid more to overlook the church but was quite noisey with homeless people drinking in the grounds. Hotel isn’t very soundproof

Lovely hotel

Very central to shops and bars. Staff very friendly and helpful. Beds very comfortable. Food was good, had the option to have eggs cooked to your request, scrambled was on the buffet Overall good value for money and would definitely stay again
