The Surf Inn was a perfect selection for a two-night stay in the middle of a long road trip. Friendly & helpful staff, comfortable room, small private patio, oceanfront, walking distance to town, and landscaped grounds with plenty of seating for watching the surf & sunset - a great combination for a relaxing stay. Fresh brownies each evening - a tasty bonus. Highly recommend.

Check in was great! Very thoughtful, attentive and welcoming. Bed is very comfortable! We saw a beautiful sunset from the patio deck. Lovely stay!

The owners and managers are trying so hard to make this property "nicer" than it is! I give them lots of credit for trying. All the basics are there: Pros: very comfortable bed; breakfast quite nice as promised (except not a single fruit item -- that was disappointing!); clean rooms; good water pressure in the shower. Cons: room (1 queen) was SO TINY: basically just a small passage around the perimeter of the bed. The breakfast was supposed to start at 8:30 (already a bit late, I thought), but both mornings we were there, the managers didn't quite have it out for another 10 or so minutes. Worst thing, maybe totally beyond their control, is that the doors/walls are NOT soundproof. Some construction workers/tree trimmers were staying there, and both mornings, someone was talking on his cellphone BEFORE 6:30AM, seemingly just outside our door (but probably farther away and just really bad soundproofing).
Conclusion: for the price, I shouldn't complain. But let's not kid ourselves: it's a solid 2-diamond property, NOT rivaling the 3-diamond one next door.

The walls are very thin. You can hear almost everything in the next room. Talking woke us up several times late at night. The bed was very weird with a pronounced lump in the middle.

The staff was very friendly, receptive to questions, and welcoming. The room was clean and the layout was perfect for 3 of us and our dog, comfortable, well furnished, with a nice little breakfast in the am. The small bluff trail offers a great view. It's a great jumping off point for the many scenic activities in the area. I'd go again!
