The Space
Mornings begin in The Yurt with soft light pouring in, and evenings end with quiet sunsets and coastal air. The setting invites reflection, creativity, and deep rest, with art and nature seamlessly woven together.
The 30-foot yurt is as fully furnished as an off-grid stay can be, thoughtfully designed to balance comfort with an authentic connection to nature. Inside, a cozy king bed with soft linens sits beneath abundant natural light, while the circular layout creates an open, calming space that feels both intimate and spacious. A newly added twin bed allows more guests to enjoy this unique retreat, and a futon is also provided for added comfort and convenience.
From the patio, you’re welcomed into a warm, single-room retreat that feels both expansive and cozy. Comfortable seating invites conversation, a couch offers the perfect spot to unwind, and the bed beckons you to linger a little longer after a day spent exploring this one-of-a-kind open-air stone museum.
At the center of the yurt, a skylight draws in natural light throughout the day, strengthening the connection to the surrounding forest and sky above.
Despite its off-grid setting, the yurt includes thoughtful comforts throughout. A kitchenette with a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee station makes mornings easy.
Ample storage and built-in games add convenience and a touch of fun. Strong wifi, heating, and everyday essentials ensure a relaxed, comfortable stay. This is glamping done right, where simplicity meets ease.
A unique 3D full bathroom pod located approximately 20 feet from the lodging has a shower. This modern, clean, and thoughtfully placed facility keeps the experience comfortable while preserving the feeling of being immersed in nature.
The Yurt is ideal for solo travelers seeking retreat and craving solitude, couples looking for and artists or creatives looking for inspiration. It’s a peaceful retreat designed for guests who value nature, artistry, and simplicity with comfort.
Further outdoors, wander winding stone paths that connect sculpture gardens, retaining walls, bridges, and meditation spaces. Yes! Your stay includes access to the Mendocino Stone Ranch’s unique masonry installation and arts, and sculptures including the Fish Rock Watchtower observation deck just 40 feet from your front door and the Temple of Imperfection, a quiet place to sit, reflect, or create. Every path you take offers a new artistic detail or natural view.
"A unique place to stay! The yurt was in great condition, the bathroom was excellent, and the location was beautiful. There was lots of impressive tile work and stone work in the surrounding yard, the artistry was impressive." - Milda

Other details to note:
- Most of our guests love this home for its close connection to nature. Since we’re in a beautiful coastal area with lots of wildlife, it’s normal to occasionally see an insect or two that may wander in through an open door or window. While we can’t control nature, we want to assure you that the home is treated regularly by a professional pest control company to minimize any issues.
To help keep things comfortable, please wipe up spills promptly, store food in the fridge or covered containers, and clean pet food bowls after use. Leaving food out can attract ants, so keeping things tidy helps prevent that.
- We can comfortably accommodate up to 5 overnight guests and allow up to 2 additional daytime visitors, for a total of 7 people on the property. Daytime visitors are welcome between 7 AM and 10 PM.
- Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. We appreciate your help in keeping this sanctuary peaceful and being considerate of our others.
- No smoking: This is a no-smoking home (including vaping). A deep-clean fee will apply if this rule is violated.
- Dogs under 50 lbs are welcome for an additional fee, but we’re unable to accommodate cats.
- No parties or large events allowed. This home is in a quiet residential neighborhood, and with neighbors nearby, noise carries easily. We appreciate your help in keeping the area peaceful.
- Please park cars in the garage or driveway of the home with a maximum of 4 parked vehicles per reservation. Please note that parking of RVs, Motorhomes, Boats or Trailers are not permitted within the community.
- Fire Safety: Wood-burning stove is available for use. Please follow the safety instructions in the welcome guide and never leave fires unattended.
**We work with a private security company that can be dispatched if we receive reports of excessive noise or parking violations.
**As is common with many homes and vacation rental properties, we have installed on-site devices for your security. These may include electronic door locks, light timers, security alarms, exterior motion sensors, outdoor facing cameras (which record whenever motion is detected including voices), smoke detection devices, and decibel meters (which do not record voices). For your privacy, we do not have any cameras inside the house. Cameras are all in plain sight and are located at the front entrance doorbell, and inside the garage. Tampering with the WiFi, mesh routers, or any of the security devices is grounds for immediate eviction with no refunds.
When you stay at The Yurt, you're covered for any accidents that might happen up to $3,000. The $42 charge listed as a "management fee" on your quote covers your purchase of $3,000 of "all risk" damage protection coverage on your rental property. This protection is purchased in lieu of a security deposit. Coverage details are spelled out in the rental agreement.
