Great Staff

The staff were very friendly. The food and drinks were great. It is a neat area. I only stayed two days but I really enjoyed the property. Especially the butterfly garden.

Beautiful rainforest resort at the foot of the Rincon de la Vieja volcano. The property is absolutely beautiful. Lush flowers and vegetation are everywhere you walk. Hot Springs and other amenities are very enjoyable for a relaxing stay. We especially enjoyed seeing a sloth and the butterfly garden.

Very enjoyable stay

Our family spent two nights relaxing and exploring the rainforest. The staff and ground were wonderful, food was good, and room was all we needed. We scheduled one excursion on our own (Sensoria) and used the property manager for another (Cathedral Falls) both exceeded our expectations. The guides were great with adults and children. We would recommend and would come back if in the area again. We drove ourselves. The roads are managble, but would recommend giving yourself plenty of daylight hours. You don't want to hurry and risk popping a tire.

A perfect 3 day stay! Great family adventure!

We spent 3-4 days over Christmas at this lovely resort. Our children(ages 10 and 13) met great friends and spent hours on the slide. We enjoyed the 4 hot spring pools as well as the cold water pools! The botanical garden and nature walk any time of day was incredible, we even saw an eyelash viper, sloth, family of monkeys and we walked along the beautiful Blue River. Rooms were lovely spacious and great beds and VERY clean. Resort food was decent for lunch and dinner, but the breakfast buffets were great. Restaurant service was usually very slow and hit or miss but maybe the servers were not motivated because people generally didn’t leave tips? The bar /drink staff was super helpful, otherwise Restaurant Service could improve but all the other staff was fabulous. Waterfall hikes were amazing. The only other thing we might suggest is having a water bubbler because there was nowhere to refill water bottles especially on hot days. We will definitely come back! The gardens and nature and staff that keeps up the plants are amazing, unreal pictures!

Beautiful location!

The resort grounds and surrounding area are stunningly beautiful with so many tropical plants and colors. The pools and water slide were a ton of fun and were not busy at all. We often had the pool to ourselves, even during peak times. The rooms are very large and were exactly what we expected. We slept great to rainforest sounds and river nearby. We were a little disappointed to hear that access to the Cathedral waterfall was not easy and would require a guided tour - which was the main reason we selected this location, but this was our error for not researching better. Instead, my daughter and husband booked the Horseback riding tour, which they really enjoyed and felt was great value. Otherwise we had a great stay and would recommend to families with young children.

Nice, but a little miss leading

We booked this hotel because it was supposed be close to the Rio Celeste.,,come to find out it was over an hour away. Besides that the cabin was fine, but the powers went off and on all day and we lost water all together for almost an entire day. The only other thing was we found out it hosted large school groups while we were there 😬. Those kids were constanscream and running all over you couldn’t relax. Then at meal time they were all over again screaming and running even stealing money from the water fountain in the restaurant!! Breakfast buffet line was so long due to the massive amount of kids!!! If they would have told us they were a kids group camp we would have booked elsewhere
