Best Bama Beach House - 23+ years! Gulf of America at your doorstep!

Clean Slate is a beautiful 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom single family home directly on the Gulf of America. The beach is at your back door with the water just steps away. Our home offers a break from overcrowded beaches, free from the congestion associated with condominiums.

The house is constantly updated, a feature our regulars love! Recently we replaced the windows in the suites, replaced the roof, replaced the 2 decks and porch, added new outdoor furniture, painted the exterior and parts of the interior, added new flooring and al new carpet in the bedrooms, added new furniture and more...

Clean Slate features tastefully appointed furnishings provide the comfortable environment for a vacation or retreat. When Clean Slate is not rented, we (the owners) occupy the home. This assures the best care and maintenance (and it shows). The home is very clean.

There are two master suites with two additional bedrooms. The home sleeps twelve people comfortably, all in beds (no convertibles or pullouts). The main living area is tiled, with area rugs. Each spacious bedroom is carpeted, has a private bath, ceiling fan, television, and more.

Beautiful home with lovely views

The home was perfect for our stay, and the view was beautiful. We enjoyed the screened-in porch after dinner every night with the pleasant breezes. It was also unexpected to have a shaded place to sit on the beach with chairs, a rug, and a cooler. The home was very well decorated and above expectations, with comfortable beds and couches.Also, the owners were kind enough to check on us, and it was very easy to find answers to unknown questions or things that we were not sure about. We hope to go back and stay again, hopefully next year.

A true beach house!

20 seconds from door to beach chairs. Beautiful house with any item you could possibly want or need
Beach chairs, shelter, assorted baby pools and toys, any kitchen item etc
Beach isn’t crowded, but just enough people around to be interesting:). The closest big grocery ( Publix, Rouses) is about 1/2 hr drive, but 2 quick stops and a Dollar General make picking up most essentials easy. Enjoyed dinner nightly on the big screeded porch and crab searches. Initially, seeing the natural gas rigs on the water ( far out) caught me by surprise, but they are lit up with pretty lights at night and became something my grandsons enjoyed watching. 100% beautiful and will gladly return.

I'm hooked on Clean Slate!

I’ve been coming to Clean Slate Beach House for nearly 15 years, and every stay is nothing short of amazing! It’s become my go-to getaway, for good reason! From stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere that never fail to take our breath away to the immaculate home itself, with every detail thoughtfully designed to make it feel like a home away from home. We love that the beach is just steps away, providing easy access to the ocean (and beach volleyball) whenever we want. And when you’re done at the beach, the outdoor space is perfect for relaxing—from the outdoor shower to the incredible back decks (yes, decks!) and the play space and toys under the house when you need a break from the sun (or wind).Inside, the spacious and comfortable floor plan allows for quality time playing games, cooking in the fully stocked kitchen and watching movies with family and friends. And when it’s time to sleep, there’s not a bad room in the house. Each room has its own bathroom and is thoughtfully decorated and cozy.Whether you’re coming to Clean Slate to relax, explore or make memories with loved ones, this beach house is a true gem!

Beach Life

This was our fourth trip to Clean Slate with our children and grandchildren, and we hope to return another day. The location is wonderful and the property is kept in great condition. We all love to cook and share meals, and the kitchen is well-equipped and perfect for family cooking. Communication with the owners is easy, and they are responsive to the renters’ needs. We love that our small dog is welcome in the house and on the beach. Highly recommend.

Care Free Vacationing

Clean Slate exceeded our families expectations and it was even better than the VRBO website illustrates! Though we were aware of the five-star rating and great reviews, we weren't ready for was just how complete Clean Slate would be. The owners care for the property and it shows. Everything was clean, fresh, and high quality. The home allows for plenty of privacy with each bedroom having its own private bathroom. When it was time to get together the large open den, dining, and bar areas made it easy for everyone to congregate. Access to the beach could not be easier. The dune walk goes right to the beach. The owners provide a huge tent, chairs, and cooler, which made the beach easy to enjoy. The screened-in porch was a great (and safe!) place for our young kids to play. With a clear view of the porch from the kitchen, it made watching our boys and preparing meals a breeze. The owners have clearly gone to great lengths to ensure the kitchen is well stocked with plenty of cookware, utensils, and other items necessary to prepare meals small and large. Given the beach house is on a limited access road there was no traffic other than guests and residents who live on the street, which was a nice bonus for us. On the one day of rainy weather we were able to leverage the parking pad to keep the kids entertained with plenty of activities. It's clear the owners care about the house and their guests - we highly recommend Clean Slate!

Perfect Vacation House

We cannot say enough nice things about this property and/or the owners! We travel with this group often and there were nothing but positive remarks the entire trip. This trip was without kids and the 8 of us each had our own room, bathroom & the kitchen was stocked perfectly for a group who likes to cook! This home is loved by it's owners and it shows. Our stay at Clean Slate was wonderful from beginning to end! The house was beautiful and very well taken care of. The owner was beyond helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Another Great Trip!!

Dan and Helen have done it again. This was our second trip to stay in this house and we weren't disappointed. Dan and Helen are the best hosts. Can't say enough good things about them. They have a great house right on the beach with EVERYTHING you need to have a great stay. We love staying at this house and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beach house with all the amenities. Mardi Gras Getaway

Dan and Helen are one of the best owners to work with. This is the 2nd time staying at their house. Clean Slate is as clean and pictured as in the past. It’s obvious they take pride in their beach house. Communication is quick, and they check on you throughout the stay, to make sure everything is good. Great stay!

We loved our time at clean slate. The house looks exactly like the pictures. We had plenty of space to spread out and the porch was lovely. We loved all the beach toys and chairs as well as the tent that was provided. We also enjoyed that this part of the beach is all houses, so it didn’t get crowded like some other areas of the gulf. Would recommend staying here!

30th Anniversary gathering !!

What a fantastic place to stay!!! Everything was better than expected. Dan & Helen made this trip Special and so easy. All of our guests were blown away by all the little things, like they had a tent setup on beach with great beach chairs. Clean Slate was perfect! The kitchen had everything you needed, the beds were great and the house was immaculate!! We will definitely be coming back. We made great memories!! Thanks CLEAN SLATE!!

Second time at this property

Second time at this property. It suits our family (six adults and a five year old) perfectly. Each couple has their own bedroom and bath. The house is big enough so that if one needs a little quiet you can escape to the hammock under the deck, the front porch sitting area, the screened in porch or one of two uncovered decks. This year there is also a canopy on the beach with chairs and tables. Yet the house is small enough that you don’t get lost in it. The kitchen seems to have everything you need for cooking great meals. It’s the Goldilocks house

Family Vacation

There were no surprises, the beach house is as described. The kitchen is well equipped and the pots/pans are in good condition. The house was clean. Wonderful views of the Gulf to enjoy while sitting on the covered deck. Anything needed for the beach is provided. And if you like to read, there’s a library of books to choose from. Wonderful trip with the family.

Fabulous and restful

The house is beautifully decorated. It looks like something out of Southern Living magazine. Sheets, bedding, pillows all first class. You also wont need anything for the kitchen. Perfection. There are a few stairs to navigate to get in if you have someone physically challenged as we did but he was able to navigate with railings and lighting on stairs. Everything so well thought out. This one is wonderful. Everything you need for beach provided. Dont bring your own chairs there are plenty supplied.

Another Amazing Stay!

This was our second stay in Clean Slate and we will be back for sure! We again enjoyed the screened in porch very much. The house is stocked with about anything you could want or need. The layout of the house is great and the couches/ beds are very comfortable. Thank you Dan and Helen!

Five stars are not enough

This was our first visit to Fort Morgan and we had an amazing vacation at Clean Slate. Dan and Helen were welcoming, helpful, and very responsive. They provided us with great suggestions for local restaurants and things to do around the area. The property was extremely clean and very comfortable with everything we needed. The views were spectacular and we spent most of our time on the porch and at the beach. We were excited to see dolphins and the sunsets were beautiful. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was equipped with all we needed plus much more. We visited during spring break and the beach was not crowded. The kids enjoyed the volleyball net and the huge collection of beach toys. My daughter said, “Five stars are not enough!” Thank you Dan and Helen for a fantastic family vacation at Clean Slate!
