The check in was great and no hassel. They checked on us regularly to make sure everything was going good. The family loved the location being right by the pool and a short walk to the beach.

Great location outside the mainstream crowd.

Good location comfy beds. Some wear along the edges of the kitchen cabinetry. Very relaxing patio. Bring drip coffee however, they don’t have a keurig.

The experience was far from satisfactory. The property is in desperate need of renovation. The paint on the kitchen cabinets is chipping off, giving the whole place a rundown appearance. The outside patio had mold, which made it unpleasant to use. Inside, there were leaking pipes under the bathroom sinks. The bath sink mats looked like they hadn’t been washed in ages, which was quite off-putting. The pillows provided were old and uncomfortable. In the kitchen, there were only two forks, and the utensil tray was filthy. It was clear that cleanliness and maintenance were not a priority here. To top it off, we encountered huge rats around the outside of the condo. We even have a picture of one on the deck. Shockingly, we were informed that these rats are protected, so nothing is done about them. Overall, this condo was a major disappointment and not worth the price. I would not recommend staying here unless significant improvements are made.

We enjoyed our stay. We loved the location to the pool. Walk to beach was longer than we are used to but was manageable. Living room furniture could use some updating for comfort and more towels, washcloths and dish towels would be nice.. condo was clean for the most part and beds were comfortable.

Close to beach, with great views, and step right outside back patio door and you’re at the pool. Recommend and would definitely stay again at this condo!

Solid location

Easy access, up-to-date information, and just what I’ve come to expect after renting from The Dunes for the past few years. The master bath needs a little plumbing attention (slow to drain sink and tub) and a replacement remote for the master suite (nowhere to be found) but other than those minor hiccups an overall great stay.

Nice condo

Very nice condo, great location, overall clean, nice view. We enjoyed the outdoor sitting area and being close to the pool. Aside from a few minor issues with a slow draining tub and carpeted rooms (not my preference for a rental) it was an overall pleasant experience for our stay.

Disappointing

We got to the unit and it REEKED of marijuana. They sent someone out to spray air freshener. The unit was absolutely filthy. The person who sprayed the air freshener even swept because she noticed it was so dirty. I had to use Clorox wipes to clean the floor. There were only TWO pots to cook with. Kitchen was extremely bare and was also very filthy. I didn’t want to bother the property management company more since cleaning would mean that we would have to get out of the way. Also, this is way further than 300 yards from the beach. We actually had to have someone drive us to the beach because it was so far.

Very clean, great location but Condo needs some attention

The condo was very clean and the location on a quiet area of a Gulf beach is perfect for those wanting to distance from the hyper activity of highly commercialized Gulf beach areas. 1 restaurant (Tacky Jacks) close, but then 19 miles away to the next one or a proper grocery store. Come with everything you might want to eat or snack on to really enjoy the peacefulness of this secluded area. Recommend also packing toilet paper, paper towels, dish detergent, garbage bags, etc. the condo is minimally supplied and it is a long haul to restock necessities. The fridge exterior looked very dirty/rusted(should be changed out, the recliner seat is wore out and looks bad, the bedroom TVs are 1990s tube TVs (should be changed out, TVs are cheap) and the modern TV in the living room would not work at all ((5 remotes, none for the tv there). Seems there is little communication between VRBO and the host company as we requested a small date adjustment within 24 hours of the booking and after numerous emails and messages ignored we gave up and went as booked. Would we return... the answer is yes. We loved the cleanliness and location. If the owner really wanted to make this a better quality experience they should get rid of the old furniture bits, upgrade the TVs, purge the kitchen of old dishes that don’t match, silverware, etc. With a small investment this condo could be super.

Nice, but not conveniently located

Nice condo but a little out dated appliances and TVs. Location was included as Gulf Shores yet it was well outside of what I consider Gulf Shores. There were no stores or gas station within 20 miles.

Learning Experience

I liked the idea of not having to go to a main office before checking in. BUT we had trouble getting into our condo. I was given the correct pin but the door was very finicky. When Intried to call the rental company, it took me 20 minutes to get someone just to be put on hold. So having an office on sight would be nice, of there was one we never found it. We have never stayed on the ground floor but with children we wanted to try it out.... would have been great if the sprinklers didn't go off constantly at odd hours of the day wetting us and our things. The pool was closed at odd hours of the day as well. I understand maintenance has to be done to the pool but in the middle of afternoon? We did have us an extra house guest. Thank goodness it was a dead mouse and not a live one. The rooms however were very clean. The bathrooms and kitchen was clean. Overall we had a decent stay other than the few mishaps. Also if you are staying here and follow the GPS it will send you to Indie Dunes instead of the Dunes. When looking at the map. We thought we could drive to the beach. Well not from the Dunes. So we recommend renting a golf cart if possible. You can't do that on site. But there r off sites that you can rent from.

Weekend getaway

The whole beach trip was a wonderful experience with my family. This is our second time staying in this condo area. However, when we finally was able to get in the room, it took about 9-10 tries with the code before it let us in. We got in the room my husband noticed that the breaker box was sparking. I contacted the manager and they sent someone over to the condo immediately and that did get taken care of. After doing a inspection of the condo I feel it could have been better. The trash can lid was disgusting it had old food on the lid it was not cleaned. When I went to go wash my face with the towel there was hair stuck on the towels. I pulled a few strands from several different towels. There is a large section under the sink area that’s missing/rotted and the main bedroom had a chunk missing around the fire sprinkler. I feel like housekeeping or whomever had adequate time to get the room prepared because I booked it about 2-3 months before our actual date. I’m not sure why they charge a cleaning fee when the room is not fully clean. We will book again next year but unfortunately it will not be the same condo.

Deep Sea Fishing trip at Fort Morgan

Great condo and very clean. Not as close to the beach as described (300 yards) but we were offered to park at neighboring Dunes complex which is closer but has limited parking. There is no shuttle service that is mentioned in older reviews. No paper towels so we had to run to grocery store. Texting with property management was easy. Overall a nice stay.

The condo was nice. But we had construction going on and could not enjoy the patio

As an older couple bars in the bathroom around the tub and toilet would have been nice. The gates to the pool were locked most of the time so we could not just walk over from our patio. We would not stay there again as there were only two restaurants close by and the same for a grocery store. The construction was supposed to have been completed by Sept and it was still going on. We have rental and we understand delays but we should have been informed. The noise was not relaxing nor was the lift that was going up and down
