We liked the location very much, but there were some issues, mainly on the interior. The refrigerator needed a new filter and the bin for vegetables was broken (very hard to open). We mentioned it to a maintenance men who replaced the door on the drier but apparently he did not feel it was important. Also the pull -out couch was very uncomfortable. We did not use it for sleeping, but sitting was not comfortable. Since we do come to Gulf Shores for an entire month, we expect better. The bed was very comfortable but the rest of the chairs needed cushions, at least.
We enjoyed our stay at Gulf Village. The hosts were very responsive with questions we had prior to our arrival and were available with whatever we needed during our stay. The unit was comfortable and provided the items needed to start our vacation. There is a great view of the gulf from the balcony. It was too chilly to use the pool but accessed the beach area and the lagoon dock. We would absolutely stay here again.
Location is about the best thing this place has going for it. The condo itself was ok - nothing impressive but it served the purpose of a place to stay when we planned a last minute trip. Pillows were cheap and flat, shower curtains were nasty, ripped, and falling off the hooks, the fridge shelves were broken and/or missing, and there were empty soda bottles trashed under the bed, but nothing that was a deal breaker. But DO TAKE NOTE that although signs are posted for doâs and donâts, apparently the guidelines that are enforced are different. The common area has signs posted to not leave belongings OVERNIGHT, which we NEVER did. However, we sat our chairs out of our vehicle around 7:15am and went to change for the beach. When we came back shortly later, chairs were gone. We reached out to the host, who then reached out to their property management service and was told we were in violation of their HOA (which we were never told even existed) and all of our chairs had been placed in the dumpster. The host proceeded to tell me I could go look in and around the dumpster and maybe find them. Being told to go dig my belongings out of the dumpster (that were wrongly placed in the dumpster to begin with) is very insulting! Of course the host tried to place blame on the property management but ultimately the host is the middle person for the renter and the property management - I canât abide by rules that are incorrectly posted and poorly communicated!!! I would not recommend!
