Stay was good. There was long black hair on the shower wall in the upstairs bathroom. The downstairs shower was not convenient for older individuals due to having to step into a high tub. They had to go upstairs and use the shower. Overall the trip was good.
Overall, this was a very relaxing vacation!
My only complaint is that the primary bedroom mattress needs to be replaced desperately.
Itâs very worn out for I am assuming it gets the most usage, considering this is the only bedroom that has an attached bathroom.
This cottage was very well equipped with all kitchen supplies, which was nice when entertaining friends. There was not liquid hand soap provided in the bathrooms so you will have to purchase that on your own. They did provide little hard, hand soaps, but I donât think anyone likes those. You will also need to provide and bring your own hangers because there is not much dresser or storage space for your clothes.
Having the pool right next-door to the cottage was wonderful! Itâs actually very hard to find a house on the beach that has a pool!
I would definitely recommend this house for a great family getaway, but beware of that mattress in the primary room. I spent over $9,000 for a six night stay here so they should have plenty of money to replace that mattress.
A few quick facts for people choosing a vacation spot : this is a dog friendly cottage, so you are able to bring your pet . You are also able to walk your pet on the beach due to the fact, this is a private beach! If your family likes to fish, you are also able to fish right off the shoreline. Itâs very rare to find a place where you can bring your dog walk them on the beach and fish right from the shore. To me, this makes the spot a win-win!
The home was apparently condemned prior to the HGTV renovation.
While the home and design choices were awesome on TV; reality is different.
Very poor workmanship and very uncomfortable furniture.
Little to no insulation, which makes for an uncomfortable stay.
Obviously poor air conditioning, since there was a window unit added in 1 bedroom and box fans in all the rest.
It was cool outside while we were there , so the rooms were very cold and very drafty.
Looking under 1 of the bathroom sinks, in the coldest bedroom, a 6x12 opening into the attic was found blowing in cold air.
We had to shove pillows in the hole to stop the draft.
The beautiful soaking tub leaks water and drains into the closet floor.
The master bedroom sliding barn door to the bathroom is installed incorrectly and leaves a 6â gap with a view directly at the commode, which renders zero privacy.
Would I stay here again, absolutely not.
Would I recommend this house to others, again the answer would be no.
Overall - the property is excellent. It is clean, updated, great layout, and right on the beach. The small private pool shared by the other few adjacent homes was convenient and also clean. The only issue we experienced was noisy neighbors blasting club music the entire day, but that is more bad luck than anything.
I would definitely stay here again, and recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in Fort Morgan.
