Warning the beautiful pictures of bungalows with modern interiors on the water are not what you will get. They put us in a old, dirty, moldy, run down trailer with a broken kitchen sink, toilet. Dirty, stinky, broken furniture including a couch that looked like it was thrown out on the curb after 10 years of dogs using it. The place smelled like a combination of cat urine, fish and mold. The door had been kicked in or something because it didnât work and was nearly impossible to close. The refrigerator and ceiling fan made a symphony of squealing and high pitched sounds that were headache inducing. The floor were worn and dirty, everything was covered in an inch of dust and dirt. The loft was covered in bugs including the bed. The hot water lasted all of 5 minutes if that. It was a nightmare all around. AndâŠ. The kicker, When I notified the office (they were kinda nice) but they made no concessions or accommodations. It was like they are used to it. I understand a few problems, but this was beyond any realm of acceptable!
I loved the location; far enough out in the wilderness to be quiet and calm, close enough to the interstate and Chattanooga to be able to get to things relatively quickly. The cabins on the water are awesome, a very cool experience. It is a bit rustic, kind of think of it as "Glamping" or glam-camping. Very cool vibe and the staff are super nice and pleasant. Be on the lookout for River, the dock cat, he is super friendly and will snatch your snacks if you leave them outside. Super cool cat.
I understand the cabin is near the wayer but the amount of mosquitos inside the cabin was to many for a good sleep. The veiw was beautiful and the drive ability to attractions was good.
