Basic stay

The room is clean, not far from the train station. But it is quite basic, maybe too basic for the price. Breakfast is usually expensive in Germany and I think a good breakfast can be found for much less outside the hotel. We were not told at the reception that the room cleaning had to be ordered so we were left without it. The street from the station to the hotel is quite scary so I recommend caution.

Hotel is nice, clean, and located a short walk to a street with many good restaurants and from the Central Station in Hamburg. Also a short walk to a beautiful lake and we enjoyed our evening walks around the lake. Staff are friendly and upgraded us to a nice room with views when we told them we are not happy with the room we were given at the check-in. Breakfasts are really great and offer variety of foods. I highly recommend this hotel.
