We had a wonderfully relxingstay at this little gem of a hotel. The staff were excellent who went out of their way to ensure a nice stress free stay. The room was tastefully decorated with everything we needed.and the breakfast was excellent. my only exremely minor whinge, like most hotels the choice of decaf coffee in the room was nescafe, probably the worst decaf coffee on the market. Pay a little extra for for Taylors or Douwe Egbert.
Very comfortable, staff were great. Room was adequate and clean. The building is an old country house with character. Would definitely stay again
The hall is in a good place to explore the kent and Sussex coast
Impossible to sleep because the curtains were very thin and the light outside, directly targeted our window all night long. (No shutters ) Terrible night.
Poor breakfast, cheap ingredients. Nice room but no mirror. Separate private bathroom down a flight of stairs. No lock so as we found could be used by other guests.
Pleasant welcome, shown to room. Itâs an old property so the rooms are a little quirky. Room was clean although there was a slightly musty smell probably because of it being an old building. Tea and coffee making equipment in room. The shower was clean and worked well. The tap of the bathroom sink could have been more powerful, it was little more than a dribble which made teeth brushing difficult. My room was on the opposite side of the hotel from the road so was very quiet, and I had the window open all night as my visit was during the heatwave, however there were packets of earplugs in the room. There is ample on site parking. I was contacted a couple of days before my stay to let me know the restaurant is not open in the evening at the moment however a cooked English breakfast (regular and vegetarian) and toast and cereals are available in the morning. The hotel is well situated to get to Hastings sea front and town centre ( about 10 minutes by car) and probably around 20 minutes to get to Rye. It is about 5-10 minutes by car to the local hospital. It is an interesting old building and has outside seating. The hotel was very suitable for my trip, I was visiting a friend, and I would stay there again.
Little bit different hotel feels like a family run hotel, couple of small things could be added like black out blinds, hooks on bathroom door in room 7,bed little bit uncomfortable, lovely breakfast included in the price which was very good .
very tranquil ideal for a peaceful relaxing break
excellent staff good english cooking
comfortable room good clean bathroom
would strongly recommend it

Amazing place. Super room with huge bed and 2 comfortable arm chairs. Large tv. Downstairs were 2 large rooms which we could relax in and look at the many interesting and exotic objects on display. Excellent breakfast.
We truly enjoyed our stay at Guestling. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. A special thank you to Catherine for the great dining recommendations in the areas that we visited while staying at Guestling.
