Upon check-in the staff was very helpful and friendly. We loved the area, nestled off the beaten path, we had all the necessary accomodations, with a restuarant onsite, horses and walking.

Beautiful surroundings! Easy to find! The buildings could use some updating and maintenance and our room was nothing special. They have two restaurants and we planned on eating dinner at the lodge but unfortunately both restaurants were closed that evening. However, the breakfast buffet (which is included) was one of the best I’ve had! So breakfast saved the experience! Overall, a nice trip!

This place is wonderful! It is a little out of the way from local towns, but we were not looking to be in the crowds. The staff were very friendly and helpful, made us feel like family. We were blown away with the dinner at the restaurant, the chefs blew us away, definitely not what we expected at a quiet, older resort. Don't miss it. We loved our quiet cabin in the woods, deer and birds abound, loved our hot tub. We wished the weather had been a little better so that we could have gone horse back riding. The horses appeared well cared for and the equestrian facilities are definitely not an afterthought addition to the resort.

I am sorry your room was not what you hoped for. Admittedly, it is one of the few rooms on the resort that has yet to be remodeled. We try to price them accordingly. I would recommend a suite in our Mountain Laurel Inn or remodeled cabin with a hot tub for a return visit.
