Loved this hotel! Very comfortable, clean, unique, fun hotel. Our room was decorated so cute, bed comfortable, very personal with welcome note and smore makings in our room. Lobby has coffee, wine bar with fireplace and comfortable seating areas. Outside several seating areas with firepits. Staff was friendly and helpful. Definately will be recommending to family and friends.

We have stayed here several times,but this is the first time under the new owner and management. We much preferred the former staff (Brian, his wife, daughter, and dog!) who were much more to our style of laid back, country, and gave us such a warm and homey feel. The nrw style is more upscale with a wine bar and upscale/pricy snacks which doesn't fit with the rustic ambiance of the establishment. There are also areas that need attention in the outside areas that are not being addtrssed (holes in the wood plank stairs as one example).

The Outpost Inn was such a wonderful stay in Highlands! Our room was darling, well appointed with a little sitting area, fireplace and record player including some throw back records that put us in the mood. Bed/bedding was great, good shower pressure and products. Each afternoon we would hang out in the common spaces and firepits and enjoy a glass of wine, 'smores and meeting other travelers. The hotel is very close to town, you can walk. They also have bikes to take around. I highly recommend this hotel for a stay in the Highlands!!

Really enjoyed the decor inside my room (The Terrace) and outside on the grounds. Parking in the front is nice while the back gravel lot less friendly; paved would be next upgrade! Staff, other guests and the general atmosphere of the place were welcoming and friendly. Definitely would recommend and book again! Wish the fridge had a freezer and ice maker. Would like to add video; only have the one relevant photo.

What a great spot. We felt the vibes right away as we pulled up and were greeted by Alex who was at the front desk. We loved the communal atmosphere and had some great conversations with other folks staying there on the common room. The bed was comfy and the room was awesome. We loved that it was a little off the main drag, but close enough to walk. I’m definitely going to recommend to others. Thanks y’all!

I stayed here a few years back when it was the Wells Hotel. I liked it then and I really like it now. The owners have done a refresh and the decor is fun and interesting. We stayed in #5 (a studio) and found it to be very comfortable and welcoming; the AC worked great and the bathroom was updated and very nice. Enjoyed playing some tunes on the record player. We walked to Sunset Rock and had dinner at Ristorante Paoletti. A very nice Highlands experience. It is a busy time of year so you will hear some road noise but it did not bother us. Highly recommend the Outpost!

The room has too many stuff, don’t have enough space. Floor Insulation is bad, on the first floor, you hear every step walking on the second floor. I was woke up by the step sound.
