The host was very welcoming and explained everything to us as we were guided to our accomodation. What a lovely surprise, a deck to view the rolling hills and river from, step inside this 1840 exquisite building and first thing that greets you is a cask of port with enough in it for 6 tipples sitting on that lovely deck (which also has a bbq btw). The bed was amazingly comfortable and the area is very peaceful. The host also suppies the many books he has written and published and he has copies on site if you wish to purchase. Highly recommend :)
Comfortable. A bit of a spring clean needed to score10/10.
Host was welcoming.
Only negative was a lack of shampoo and conditioner (luckily we'd brought our own)
I booked the house with King bed, got with queen bed instead. Room was very hot at night. Air-conditioning in the room would be good. Price paid for the Loft was too much i think. When i booked it said continental breakfast.
There was half a loaf of bread on the table , jug of orange juice in the fridge and cereal. Met Greg at reception to pick up key.
Never saw him again...
I don't think i got value for money. The curtain in the bath tub/shower was a bit dirty.
I think separate shower would be nice instead. My husband was unable to get in and out of tub to have a shower.
No proper lighting and mirror in the bathroom to put my make up on to attend an occasion.
A beautiful historic building with comfortable amenities. We stayed in the Loft apartment - very spacious, a great little roof top deck where we could have dinner/breakfast. Gary was very welcoming. Will stay again and recommend to anyone looking to stay in and around Huonville.
Enjoyed a wonderful two night stay in the tranquil, surprisingly spacious and beautifully furnished Loft apartment. Would not have changed a thing and wish our stay had been longer. Friendly greeting on arrival, very thoughtful provision of a loaf of bread and some spreads, port and chocolates. Beautiful garden. Conveniently only 30 minutes from Hobart, but it feels like another world.
We had a lovely stay, it was the loft part of the house but completely private, we only saw the owner (Gary, lovely man) when we checked in and when we left. The house is old but the has all the mod cons we needed we needed including supplies for a Continental breakfast (ample). As it was a loft, the ceilings were sloped so we needed to take care when moving around the edges of the rooms. As we were 2 couples they made the 2 singles into a King bed, it was at the end of the living area but was fine. Huge bathroom with shower over the bed-the shower was lovely. Outside we had a private balcony with a stunning view over the gardens (beautiful with Wisteria in full bloom) to a mountain range. We also had a designated car space. There is
lots to do in the area, Crabtree House is situated right on the edge of the Huon Valley with so much to do and close to Hobart. Would certainly stay there again.
We stayed at The Loft, which offers quite nice views of the valley from a deck. Comfortable and well-stocked with necessary utensils to cook your own meals, but also comes with basics to have a nice easy breakfast. The main bedroom was quite cold, as the radiator wasn't working, but there was an electric blanket and heater in the next room and bathroom.
Nothing unique. The apartment was lovely.
The breakfast was a bit dissapointing since it was not a proper B&B that I was hoping for. More of a self catered apartment where they provided with average bread butter and cereals.
I traveled with my parents and we had a lovely stay at the loft. It was in a beautiful location without being too far off the main road, approx 5kms. The loft was beautiful a lovely historic building that has been beautifully renovated. The kitchen was adequate for our one night stay. The bathroom was amazing, a large bathroom always feels so decadent. The large rain shower was great. The bedrooms had the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on "like floating on a cloud" my father exclaimed. Top quality linen and pillows and warm and cosy for our middle of winter stay. Great location a short drive from Willie Smith coder house.
Facilities: Nice ; Value: Affordable; Service: Outstanding; Cleanliness: Spick and span, good apart from smoke;
Smoke from the wood fired central heating chimney blows in through the door to the Loft. Probably very unhealthy...
