Room was not great - was old and in need of repairs and updating. In the room (The attic) the bathroom floor tiles were no longer waterproof. They held the water and it felt like you were standing in a sponge. The town of Richmond was lovely.

Room dirty, towels threadbare, smelled of mould , didn't get serviced, room not sound proofed as described, neighbours noisy early in the morning, bed uncomfortable, kitchenware (plates and cutlery) dirty. Not 2 matching wine glasses to enjoy a wine together. Dog on premises barked in the night. Not up to standard expected for the price. Some kind of compensation should be given

Very nice property but could do with tlc. Everything was clean but old. Towels very thin, cutlery less than the amount of people booked in. Broken outdoor furniture. A real shame as it could be an amazing place. Staff were very nice, service good. We just stayed overnight so we were happy.

Quirky and fun. For one night the Gypsy caravan was grest. Hatchers Retreat is great and full of interesting stuff along with great stories. Food in restaurant was good too.

The property is old, tired and worn out. The paint, finishes facilities are worn, cracked and unattractive. The dining room is dark, heavy and cluttered. The staff were nice, but clearly have been doing this a long time. It is time for an update for this property

The couple we’re welcoming & friendly the room was clean but was so old & dated, definitely need new beds & linen, outside grounds are shabby, but they were good enough to allow me to cook a stir fry, everything needs an upgrade

Charming little find

Quirky, friendly historical venue. Everything worked well and although the building is tired, the owners and surroundings made up for it. We booked in for dinner and were provided with a warming, substantial home cooked meal and a Charming hostess. Good selection of wines. Lots of accommodation types available. Close to Richmond (walk or drive) and easy access to other areas. Beautiful scenery and lots of animals that any children would love.

Toilet needs updating, we had 4 adults had to wait 20-30 minutes inbetween flushing. We stayed in the cottage not the manor and it was a very cold night and the heating stayed on all night but we still felt the cold. Very pretty property and surroundings just the facilities need a bit of updating.
