hostel is in an old industry building, tired, lifeless and run down. disgusting bathrooms, lurkwarm showers, kitchen untencil containers - when was the last time they were cleaned out? we choose to get takeaway or dine out. reception closed from 3:30pm, weird shituation that you had to use a back down outside of said hours.

The building is old but it's good to have a good stay for 1-2 nights in hobart, the location is strategic, right in the center of hobart cbd, and affordable as well. Good place to stay!

Excellent value for money. Being able to get a private room for under $100 is something let alone $65 (cash). Definitely would consider using it again. Window did not have flywire which wasn't too much of a biggie. No cooling. Leaving the door ajar caused a terrific breeze. Night exit was immediately under window and one night there was revelry until 1 am under the window.

Worst hotel in Hobart - loud and noisy including the caretaker outside room. The halls are dirty, furniture is old, and plenty of smoke wafting into room

Overall, if you're staying in the winter, ask them to turn on the heater before you check in, as it takes a long time to warm up the room. John, the long-term resident, is really great and helpful—he makes everyone feel at home. Thanks, John!
