Enjoyed the beachfront location and views!

Pros: Location (beachfront), price (reasonable), restaurant (very good), cleanliness (inside & out), view (ocean).
Cons: Just one slow elevator served the hotel at one end of a long corridor.
Location: Great place to stop after driving from Christchurch through Arthur's Pass on the way to the west coast glaciers. Hokitika Gorge nearby is a must-see.
Really enjoyed the quaint town of Hokitika and being right off the beach with the roaring surf just out our window was amazing. The hotel is nice, clean, well appointed, with a great restaurant (Oceanview) - we had dinner at sunset overlooking the waves and a generous breakfast the next morning from the buffet. Rooms are spacious and hotel location is ideal for walking about town. Don't miss the Hokitika Gorge with a swing bridge over a glacial blue river cutting through the rocks - less than an hour from town, it's worth the trip for sight-seers.
