Check in and out was great. The cabin is adorable and was quite clean. It was also surprisingly quiet for how full it was. Blackout curtains were appreciated. ..but the honesty of the staff is incredible. We left something behind and they contacted us as to how to get it back to us. Impressive.

The room was very clean but very small, requested amenities be replaced with no room service requested, over a three day stay, but finally got extra milk and coffee at Reception. Our quarters were closer to the railway track than the beach.

Lovely place, close to the sea and nice animals on the terrain. Glim worms dell next door. Hokitika is a very interesting township. Kiwi house, aquarium, exciting boulevard along the sea. The accomodation is perfect.

$223 a night for a small room by the road. Old shower with mould. Room service - none - they just changed the towels. Didn’t make the bed or wash a dish in the sink. Pillows really big and so firm, office closed so we had to sleep on folded towels. No fan or aircon - just unscreened open windows that let the bugs in = lots of bites. No microwave, only an old cook top. Good location near glow worms and beach. But no way is it worth that cost or the 4.5 stars or 9/10 stated. That room was 3 stars. We can’t recommend this place at all.

Arrived after office hours and was easily able to pick up room key with map to room. The property was quant and cute. Loved the animals and the buildings all looked very nice. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Walking path to the beach was easily accessible.

Excellent location, just across the street from the glowworm attraction. Restaurants and shops are nearby, making dining very convenient. The room was clean and well maintained, and the kitchen was well equipped. The staff also gave us helpful restaurant recommendations, which made our evening very enjoyable.
