Central air was not working, so there was a portable air conditioner in the room, which caused the carpet around it to be wet. The beds were very firm. Pool/hot tub were drained and closed.
With a little TLC, could be a really nice place.
This hotel must have been premier in it's time but it is in pretty tough shape. Needs a lot of tender loving care. The pool is not available, the outside areas are overgrown and need weeding, the interior is very dated with old carpet. The setting is absolutely beautiful. Wish someone could make a major investment to make this place magical again.
Didn't have advanced notice that there was no check-in after 11 but eventually found keys on a counter, Normal wall unit heat/a/c like most hotels but didn't work and had a very noisy portable unit at the foot of the bed. Room was very clean but no in room coffee but the big coffee machine was on all night (downstairs). Breakfast - got my cereal but the milk and juice in the fridge were locked up. No convenient outlets for charging electronics. No in room phone to schedule a wakeup call, no alarm clock.
I bet in its day, this place was amazing! It has so much potential. But it is very rundown and empty. I donât believe the owners have much hotel experience and donât understand a lot of hotel jargon. For example, there are space heaters in the rooms! Total safety hazard and against the law. The air conditioning in my nephews room didnât work. We had a portable air conditioner in our room. I do have to say that worked great, but it was kind of weird.Instead of fixing the hot tub that is stuck at 104 degrees, they just put a sign up that itâs down because they donât want to deal with the complaints. The pool was very sandy on the bottom. Breakfast was by far the most continental breakfast I have ever seen. Very little choices and no hot food. They donât understand, adjusting rates to fill rooms, they just charge a lot even if theyâre empty. Unlike the comments in their newspaper article, running a hotel is completely different than running an apartment or rental property. They seem to have decent enough personalities that I believe it could be fixed, if so desired. It is sad to see the restaurant bar and conference center completely empty and shut down . This could be a great destination wedding venue. I wish the best of luck to them in the future but until things change, I probably wonât go back.
Unsafe space heater & portable AC plugged into power surge. Bathroom had lot of water damage on wall behind toilet quality of air was very musty for those with breathing issues like asthma & allergies..asked to switch RMS . Told it would cost more ..pullout couch sunk in toward the head part . No blankets for pull out ..pool was very cold ..had a cute outdated arcade . Sadly nothing seemed to work for the games .. would've checked out within minutes; f we knew it had so many issues.. nothing like the pictures
