Adorable private cottage with lake views and access.
A private two-bedroom/1 bath cozy cottage (860 sq ft) with everything you need to feel at home. Less than an hour to Acadia National Park and plenty of stores and activities, but secluded enough for a relaxing time with friends/family. Lake views and access within easy walking distance.
The property is as listed. The host was completely available through the app. Very helpful to let me know that it was not as close as it seems. Nothing is in Maine. Great property located close enough to Acadia, Castine and Bangor.
My wife and I stayed here for an anniversary trip that included Acadia. This is a nice little cottage with a great deck and lake view. We were a little further that some to Bar Harbor, but not a problem. We were going most of the days on our trip, but it would have also been nice to just chill out on the deck and look at the lake. This place has some personality. Very nice. Well stocked. Be aware the 2 bedrooms are upstairs and the 1 bath is downstairs - ground floor. Stairs are not super-wide. Dining table for two. Everything was well kept. The dirt road was a little intimidating as I'm from flat Florida, but that was no problem. TV has Roku streaming, which I have at home, so that worked well. NewsOn and Haystack will get local & national news. The owner was great with communication and helpfulness. I would certainly stay again. Beautiful area. Loved the huge rocks in the well-manicured yard. I loved the old railroad tracks, too! Maybe next time, can try the rail bikes.
This cozy little private cottage is perfect if you are looking for a quiet get away convenient to many local attractions, great restaurants and wineries. The view of the lake is amazing.Michelle is a super host. We were thrilled .
Great location! Far enough away from the chaos . My sister and I enjoyed our stay . The selection of cooking utensils were spot on. The game and art supplies came in handy when the heat index kept us from hiking. Wonderful stay !
A quaint and clean stay. Mattress were all comfortable but we didnât sleep in the daybed. There were two cold air conditioners in the upstairs bedrooms. The bathroom was clean and updated but on the main floor. It was not a problem for us but it could be helpful to know-f it was in the listing, I missed it. We made a stop on our way at the grocery and found everything we needed to prepare our meals, in the kitchen. Grill was in good shape. Washer and dryer with soap and dryer sheets provided! Really nicely stocked. It seemed as if our host thought of everything including a tray of ice and chilled glasses in the freezer. We used this as our base while exploring Acadia. Travel time to and from was around an hour(we traveled early and late missing most of the park traffic), maybe a little less. Several loons on the lake, nice touch MichelleWe would definitely stay again but next time plan on having more time at this adorable cottage.
We loved the location of the cottage as well as the cottage itself. Small and cozy with lots of charm. Perfect place to stay for a relaxing vacation. Close to Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor and Bangor.
We loved our stay at Michelle's place. Quiet and secluded, but easy to get to Bangor and Bar Harbor/Acadia. Some of our favorite parts of our trip were watching the sunrise on the lake with a cup of coffee and the hummindbirds that visited the feeder on the porch. House had everything we needed Ave was very cozy and inviting.
The cottage was perfect for our small family of three. We enjoyed walks along the lake road, kayaking, the beach next-door, and a few campfires.. My husband enjoyed reading on the front deck and I think we even used the gas grill a few times. On days that the weather wasnât cooperating we enjoyed hanging out indoors watching a few movies and simply relaxing. Our cellular coverage in Maine is never great so we appreciated (especially my teen) the great WiFi in the cottage. All in all a wonderful vacation experience that met our expectations!!
Beautiful property! It was well maintained and very clean. Wonderful antiques and tastefully decorated. It was very warm outside and the only negative was no air conditioning on the main level making it impossible to stay there during the day.
Michelle's cottage was clean, cheery and well appointed. It is on a lake in a quiet area close to Bangor, Acadia and Bar Harbor. I was pleasantly surprised to find both ground coffee with filters as well as coffee pods. She also provided sweetener and a fresh carton of half and half. The kitchen had many spices, oil, cookware, dishes and typical appliances. The bathroom was clean with body wash, shampoo, conditioner and extra toothbrushes and toothpaste if you forgot. There are board games for the kiddos or a rainy day. I have a few recommendations to improve one's stay. These are my opinion based on my preferences and comfort level. A few days during our stay, the weather was unseasonably hot for Maine. The cottage could benefit from a small air conditioner in each bedroom rather than just one bedroom. I do understand that the weather was not typical but it made it rather uncomfortable. The sun rises earlier than anywhere else in the country in Maine. Some blackout shades or curtains in the bedrooms would be helpful. The deck was lovely and would benefit from an umbrella to provide some shade.Again, these are my suggestions that I found myself wanting during my stay. Regardless, I would not hesitate to recommend or stay again should the opportunity arise. Michelle was great with communication and suggestions. The cottage is clean and well appointed in a lovely, quiet location with a fair price. These are key factors in my choosing a rental and they were all met.
We spent a week at the house and could not have picked a better place to see and do so many things! Michelle was so quick to respond if we needed anything and the house was well stocked! Super clean and comfy beds! We would definitely stay here again!
Small on the outside but plenty roomy inside. Clean, well maintained, comfortable beds, good shower. Very well stocked. In fact the kitchen is better stocked than my own house! Awesome sunrise views over the lake from the deck. Situated about 30 min from Bangor and 45 to Bar Harbor. Very happy with our stay!
This little cabin in the woods had amazing views of the lake and was wonderfully stocked! It felt very private and remote, but it was just off of a main access road, convenient to Bangor or Acadia. I would definitely stay again when in the area.
We came to see the fall colors in Acadia. We found this place to be a welcoming space and a convenient drive (about 45 minutes) from the park. It gives you some time to unwind from the crowds and pick up any needed supplies. It is easy to get to and has a wonderful view of the lake out the back. Great for early morning and evening views. Michelle was a fantastic hostess as we got our departure date mixed up and she worked with us to get out quickly and was gracious about our mistake. The place is extremely clean and comfortable, The grill worked great and all of the appliances and kitchen needs were there. The only bathroom is downstairs from the bedrooms, but it wasn't an issue for us. The stairway was easy to navigate. The deck is great and we did use it to enjoy the view. The beds were comfortable and the internet worked flawlessly. A great base of operations for a very fair price!
Cozy cottage tucked away in a beautiful, peaceful area on the lake. We had a great time of rest and relaxation in this cute cottage. Everything you need for a great stay and Michelle was very helpful with details of the area. The trees were absolutely gorgeous this time of year!!!!
Everything was perfect! Michelle was in constant communication with me from booking. Answered questions, suggested places to go and things to see. Everything was exceptionally clean. Will be recommending this to others who are looking for a quiet place near Acadia or Bangor!
I booked this property for my birthday weekend. We needed a nice, quiet place to relax after hiking in Acadia. I highly recommend this property. The property is beautiful and the neighborhood is quiet. The host provided a list of restaurants and stores in the area which was very helpful. We got pizza from Zeppaâs our first night there and it was great!
