Beach Ball - A "Sound" Choice on the Canals

Beach Ball is truly a boater's dream! The home is located on the canals of Surf City, locally known as Old Settler’s, and comes complete with a very nice dock and even a boat ramp for guest use. There truly is nothing like having your boat out back ready to go!! Beach Ball also features ample parking, one covered deck, one uncovered deck, and even a screened-in porch area. As you arrive at the home entering through the wet weather entrance at ground level, you will immediately see a large storage closet to the left perfect for beach toys and rafts.

Up the stairs, you will find the first-floor bedrooms of this reverse-floor-plan home. To the right on this level is a large laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer that's sure to be very accommodating! At the left end of this level, the very nice sized master suite with a king bed, television, direct access to the waterfront deck, and nicely appointed master bath with a jacuzzi tub and shower is sure to provide some relaxing nights for just mom and dad. Coming back towards the stairway, you will find a shared bath for the two remaining bedrooms on this floor complete with double sinks and shower/tub. The 2nd bedroom on this floor is perfect for the little ones with two twin beds and access to the waterfront deck. The third bedroom features a queen-sized bed along with access to the waterfront deck. Up the stairs to the living level, immediately to your left, you will find a shared full bath with shower/tub. The living room and kitchen areas overlook the beautiful canal to offer you amazing views. You can even enjoy those great Topsail nights from the screened-in porch located off the living room. Ample seating is provided so the whole family can peacefully watch the boats go by together. Beach Ball offers Cable and Internet services to its guests. The 4th bedroom is located on this floor and offers a queen-sized bed and access to the upper-level full bathroom. Beach Ball is truly a special treat for the boater or sound side lover.

Please note: Guests do not have access to the boat lift that is located at the house, however guests are welcome to safely use the boat ramp and the dock.

Perfect location!

This house is perfect if your are bringing your boat or kayaks or if you have multiple vehicles. The top balcony gives the best view of the canal. There are not TV’s in all the rooms & that would be nice in the evenings but other than that it was perfect!

This house needs some TLC

The house was an open area, the AC worked great, the refrigerator kept things cold and the ice machine worked. The bathrooms were clean. The dock and boat launch worked good for our family. We enjoyed the outdoor shower. We brought our grill and even tho, upon arrival, there was a grill, it needed to be cleaned. Not sure what the odor was when we entered. We found stains throughout the house (it has carpet) and the furniture had many stains in the living room and screened porch cushions. I thought I could flip them, but it was just as bad. The throw rugs on the floors had stains and were dirty. I was embarrassed before my family arrived at the condition of the house. The screened porch had white wicker which was dirty and with the stained cushions, front and back, we felt uncomfortable, so we did not use. We felt the older stains should have been addressed long ago and found it hard to believe it was rented in this condition. Stains are a huge let down.

The Beach Nall

This was my families 2nd time renting this property and we enjoyed both visits. It is right on the canals and we had no problems docking 2 boats. Very nice house with lots of room. Would have been nice to have a tv in all bedrooms though.

Great location!

We had a very nice week! We typically stay oceanfront but decided we wanted to bring our boat for the week for something different, we did not mind the walk to the beach like we thought we might. Thankfully, I read the previous reviews because it helped us know what we were getting. The deck definitely needs some attention and I emailed before our arrival, after reading the information from Lewis that properties were keyless, and confirmed that this was not keyless so be aware of that. Also, if you arrive much earlier than check in and are bringing a boat, you are going to struggle with parking until you can get to your house. This was our first trip to Surf City so we were not familiar with the area. We had a small run in with the first person we dealt with at the realty company in regards to the parking of our boat and at that point we were pretty frustrated because where we were told to go to park it was a nightmare and overfull so it was not helpful. However, the second person was very kind and understanding and we were able to get what we needed quickly and move along. There was surprisingly a grill at the property which was not listed in the amenities. We brought our own to use but wouldn't have had to. I also bought a dvd player to use while we were there because there isn't one so don't bother taking movies unless you bring your own. The kitchen was decently stocked compared to a lot of places we've rented. I would stay here again.

Enjoyed our stay at the Beach Ball!

Lots of good with a few suggestions: The good stuff: Location is premium, you can ride your bike to the convenience store, arcade, beach, and even the Trailer bar if you are so inclined. House is roomy, lots of balcony space, and the screened porch is a big plus. Kitchen is well stocked, TV is huge in main room. Private boat ramp is a plus. Canal is lovely, dock is super nice. Only suggestions: as of August 2017, deck/wood work needs pressure wash at a minimum and should be treated (even had a friend say it without us mentioning), carpets are in good condition but there are a few large spots that could be probably easy to clean. Water temperature in house should be turned down... scalding potential with young kids, bathtub wouldn't give us cold water at all. A few areas in screen on porch should be repaired as they have come loose (just gives look of maintenance need). Lewis needs to ensure that this property is not noted as keyless entry, as we had to make an extra trip back to the Realty office to get a key. No one can control this, but two houses on the canal had construction crews during our week, which was quite distracting from the beauty of the canal with the noise factor (think 7:45-9:00 am chainsaw). We don't blame the owners on this, but it was a factor. Overall a very nice stay.
