We highly recommend an outstanding spa-like couples retreat featuring a cozy, luxurious cabin, with a beautiful deck for BBQ and dining, plus an outdoor 2-person private sauna, hot & cold plunge baths, and 2 outside showers in the canopy of the Olympic National Forest across the road from Lake Cushman just up the road from Hoodsport. Seriously we absolutely loved it! The rental gives you access rights (hangtag) to use the private beach docks at Lake Cushman and it’s a gorgeous glacial lake (dammed) surrounded by the beautiful Olympic mountain range. There’s hiking trails nearby requiring NP pass, paved roads in the wooded subdivision where the cabin sits for dog walking (pet friendly cabin!) and all kinds of water spirts nearby (kayaking, canoeing, fishing with state license, SUPing or swimming). Book early if you’re bringing a boat because they need 2 weeks to get you a permit for boat launches. Great location 10 minutes up from Hoodsport so be sure to go to the local restaurants and shops to support the local businesses. Great seafood nearby. After each day we enjoyed the spa at our cabin with some wine snd cheese and stargazing out the skylights in the bedroom upstairs. We’re already planning a return trip maybe this winter!

The wife and I stayed here for 8 days and really enjoyed our time. The cabin is small but quaint, exactly the kind of cozy spot you expect in a rural setting. The property itself is beautiful — peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by nature.The sauna was broken for the first 4 days, which was disappointing since it was one of the reasons we booked. Given how rural the area is, it took time to get a repair person out, but Colin, the host, made it right, and we appreciated how he handled the situation. Once it was fixed, it was great.The internet is pretty poor, but again, that’s expected for the location. If you’re looking to stream movies or work remotely, keep that in mind — but if you’re here to unplug, it’s perfect.Overall, despite the hiccup, we left happy. Colin took care of us, and the setting makes this a great spot for a quiet getaway.Don’t forget to lay in bed and watch the stars, or the rain during the day!
