A charming cottage in the heart of Hope Town settlement, Dunwanderin showcases its late 1800s origin yet is fully renovated and modernized with all desirable amenities. Nestled within lush native vegetation on quiet Lover’s Lane, only steps away are a beautiful ocean beach, the scenic harbor and famous lighthouse, quaint shops, eateries, grocery store, public docks, and its very own boat slip.

With friendly locals and a tranquil, family-friendly environment, Elbow Cay offers an alternative to the cruise ships, mega-resorts, “compounds”, and crowds of many Bahamian destinations.

About the owners: William and Lynn are from New Bern, NC and honeymooned on Elbow Cay in 1982. They designed, built, and maintained a popular 6-bedroom oceanfront rental house just south of town for 25 years before falling in love with and purchasing Dunwanderin. They take great pride in keeping the house in excellent condition and are constantly making improvements. Sharing their island home with renters when they are absent is their pleasure.

Dunwanderin is a charming property. Very quaint, historical architecture with all the modern conveniences. We came for a wedding thinking this would be a once in a lifetime opportunity. After learning some history of Hope Town, all the friendly people, dining and of course the beach, I think we will be back.

Excellent Stay!

We had a wonderful stay at this property! The house was perfect. The neighbors are wonderful as well. The property managers were amazing, they helped us with everything from booking a golf cart to having a birthday cake delivered. We loved everything about the place and would stay again!

Hopetown is Quaint and Wonderful

We have stayed here in the past-and it is just as cozy and welcoming as before Dorian. There is lots of rehab going on and Hopetown is always interesting and the ocean is exquisite. The plus is Mr Vernon's Grocery right next door!
