Located in the very heart of the picturesque settlement of Hope Town, "Dunwanderin" is a fully renovated historic cottage exuding charm and elegance. The house is nestled within lush tropical vegetation on Lover’s Lane, assuring shade and privacy and absent of vehicular traffic. All modern conveniences are provided in an open and airy floor plan with an abundance of natural light. Merely steps away are all the amenities for a truly authentic Bahamian stay - a beautiful sandy ocean beach, the scenic harbour and famous lighthouse, quaint shops, grocery stores, varied eateries, and public dock.
The friendly locals and a safe, tranquil, family-friendly environment are especially appealing to vacationers who prefer an alternative to cruise ships, mega-resorts, "compounds", and maddening crowds. Dunwanderin offers the best of the best.
The rear deck features a large dining table, comfortable furnishings for lounging, and a giant umbrella when shade is desirable. The two main bedrooms feature queen beds with high quality mattresses and linens. The TV room/study has a sleeper sofa that unfolds into a very comfortable queen bed (a rarity). Upstairs is a full bathroom and downstairs is a half bath, paired with one of the nicest outdoor showers on the island. The house is optimal for 4 people, but will easily accommodate 2 more on the sleeper sofa.

The owners honeymooned on Elbow Cay in 1982. They designed, built, and maintained a popular 6 bedroom oceanfront rental house just south of town for 25 years, and which they sold in 2024. Immediately thereafter they fell in love with and purchased Dunwanderin, which is now their pride and joy.
