Excellent hotel. Spotlessly clean. Good sized room, comfortable bed, spacious shower with good pressure and plenty of hot water. Added bonus was tv set up for chromecast so could stream netflix etc from phone. Strong wifi throughout premises. Dog friendly. Only negatives were traffic noise in front facing rooms which could be an issue for very light sleepers. Food generally very good but continental breakfast somewhat average.
I’ve stayed here a number of times when on work trips as it’s nice to able to have a short walk in the Peaks after work. Always welcoming and maintained to a good standard.
I was in a ground floor room for the first time and was a little concerned thw road noise would stop me sleeping but I actually had the best nights sleep
Special thank you to the waitress on 23 April (sorry didn’t catch her name) very attentive and pleasant.
Sadly, the EV chargers didn't work, and every staff member under the age of 25 looked like they really didn't want to be there. It took the shine off our dinner, bearing in mind we are only 27 and 28, and have worked similar jobs ourselves - but it was very noticeable and off-putting.
Loved the dog friendliness of the place and how accommodating it was to outdoorsy folk. Will come back for sure.
Likes:
- How dog friendly the hotel was.
- The staff, particularly the staff on reception, were really friendly and helpful.
Dislikes:
- The grass around the hotel was quite long and messy and with the hotel being so dog friendly it would have been better if this area was kept better maintained.
- The breakfast wasn't great. Some of the food seemed like it wasn't particularly fresh (I had a croissant on one day which was really dry).
Absolutely excellent. Wonderful place, fantastic restaurant, thoughtful touches (our pup was very pleased with her welcome tennis ball!). I was a bit disappointed with the breakfast but there was a good variety available.

Great base to explore from
Modern style & decor. We heard someone describe it as an ‘outdoorsy styled Premier Inn’ and would agree, with some nice additions of all day hot drinks and 4pm cake.
We had a ‘small double’ room but this was a generous size with plenty of storage to unpack into. Everything was clean and the linen & towels were good quality. The shower was delightful after a long day of walking & the toiletries smelled nice.
Food on the first night was underwhelming (burger & chips and pizza) but the Sunday roast was very good, especially the cauliflower cheese.
Parking is great, wash off facilities are useful, lounge area is really nice.
Like much accommodation in the area it is next to the busy road so bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper.
Most staff were friendly, polite & helpful. A few seemed disinterested and probably not suited to a hospitality role.
Self check in and check out was quick and easy.
I would say that the photos are an accurate reflection of the spaces, general condition of the hotel and it’s style.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and would book again.
We had a great stay at this bright, clean hotel, which is truly dog-friendly, our dogs were treated as guests too!
Staff were welcoming and attentive, we cant wait to go back!
