Stay in a Treehouse Escape at Lake Catherine / Fire Pit + Lake Toys + Privacy

A unique getaway awaits on this private 40-acre treehouse retreat on Lake Catherine, with over 2,000 feet of shoreline, wooded trails, creeks, and plenty of space to explore. Whether you’re looking for adventure or just a quiet place to relax, this property offers both.

Spend your days kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, swimming, or simply enjoying the outdoors. Lake toys are provided March through November. Around the property you’ll find picnic areas, fire pits, hammocks, and quiet spots to sit and take it all in. Wildlife is part of the experience—deer, birds, and even bald eagles are regularly seen.

The treehouse is designed to feel comfortable and relaxing. It includes a king bedroom, plus a loft with a queen bed and two twins. The full bathroom is stocked with towels, soap, and shampoo. The kitchen has everything you need, including a refrigerator with ice maker, microwave, drip coffee maker, griddle, convection toaster oven with air fryer, and hot plates.

Inside, the vaulted ceilings and shiplap walls give the space a light, open feel. The home is fully heated and air-conditioned and includes an all-season fireplace.

Outside, the wraparound deck offers plenty of seating along with a porch swing—perfect for morning coffee or just enjoying the wooded views. A charcoal grill and picnic area are just steps away.

The property itself is full of things to explore, from trails and shoreline to “Big Pine Point,” home to one of the largest pine trees in the state. In season, you can also enjoy wild blackberries, blueberries, and muscadines.

Additional amenities include a boat dock (feel free to bring your boat), life jackets, beach towels, indoor and outdoor games, books, movies, and TVs in both the living area and bedroom. Firewood is also provided.

There is no Wi-Fi at the treehouse. We like to think of it as a chance to unplug and enjoy your surroundings. Cell service is strong, and hotspots work if needed.

Please note:

Children must be 5 years or older due to the open loft and elevated deck
Roads and driveways were updated in November 2025 and are now easier to navigate
Lake levels are lowered each year from November through March 15 due to winter drawdown

Very clean property, great for relaxing, water toys were fantastic! My only suggestion would be to revise the description to make sure it is well known there is only a kitchenette without a full size stove so renters are prepared. We didn’t plan to go into town at all during our stay and the food we brought to prepare presented a challenge and took a lot more time and effort to cook.

The house was immaculate. The Hot Springs water in the fridge was an awesome touch. The heat in the bathroom was so nice on the cold mornings. We loved listening to all the sounds of nature in the morning and at night. Enjoyed the trails, paddleboards and kayaks. It was so great to have that access! The mattresses were comfortable. We had a fantastic getaway at the Treehouse Cabin in Hot Springs. The cabin was immaculately clean and well stocked for our arrival. The host left several surprise goodies for us to enjoy. Located on the edge of a hill the back porch puts you at treetop level and provides an oasis of quiet while you sip your morning coffee and listen to the call of the birds bringing in the new day. The beautiful large property provides it's own small nature park which you can stroll along the waters edge and through the timbers to visit nearby farm animals. We loved the long gravel (somewhat steeply sloped) driveway which made you feel like you were far away from city life. The cabin is efficiently designed to provide a rustic lake house feel with all the modern 21st amenities. A wooden ladder leads to an open high loft with 2 small and 1 large bed. All 3 very comfortable. The Master bedroom is on the first floor for those less adventurous. Our teenage and young adult children loved the loft and it's one of the signature features of the cabin but I imagine very young children would need to be closely supervised. When ready to return to civilization, you are only a 15 minute drive to downtown with a plethora of restaurant options. It's also conveniently located to nearby parks and attractions. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning to this little slice of heaven very soon.

This amazing secluded property was everything we hoped for in our romantic getaway. It's so relaxing just being in the woods, but there's also plenty to do down on the water. And it's still close to town, which is great, because we were surprised by all that Hot Springs has to offer.The cabin is cozy and comfortable and the porch is amazing. Despite not having an oven, we were still able to cook for two, using the hot plate and electric griddle.The gravel roads are steep, so you might want to leave the Lamborghini at home.Highly recommended property!
