Get Away From it All at Whiskey Rapids • Dog Friendly!

Classic Colorado mountain cabin! Whiskey Rapids is tucked beneath the Twin Sister Peaks on 2.5 peaceful acres—perfect for unplugging, relaxing, and soaking up that fresh mountain air. You'll have plenty of room to spread out with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, plus a washer/dryer and a fully stocked kitchen for easy meals at home. When you're ready to explore, you're close to all the best local adventures: only 25 minutes to Salida, 45 minutes to Monarch Mountain for that all-natural Colorado powder, and just minutes from the Gold Medal waters of the Arkansas River.

**During winter months it is HIGHLY encouraged that guest have all wheel drive vehicles and/or snow chains. Pinon Vacation Rentals is not responsible for providing any type of towing services.
**This home does not have air-conditioning

All Pinon homes are "vacation ready" with a fully appointed kitchen, towels and linens. Hand, dish and shower soaps are provided, as well as toilet paper, trash bags, paper towels, salt and pepper, coffee filters and laundry soap.

Pinon Vacation Rentals provides guest support from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 pm.

All guests are responsible for reading Welcome Book “Check-In and Check-Out instructions.

~Acceptance of the terms of the Rental Agreement and all Rental Policies is ASSUMED at the time of reservation. 24 to 48 hours before arrival, check-in instructions will be sent to guest.

**This home is rented for personal vacation use only. Any other use including large gatherings or parties is not allowed. Renters must abide by all rental terms and policies, as well as all local applicable property covenants, restrictions, regulations and laws. Any evidence of smoking, use of firearms, driving ATV's other than in the driveway as access only, unapproved pets, unauthorized use of property grounds, damage resulting from violation of rental policies, and/or excessive mess may result in charges up to $3000.00 to the Guest's credit card on file, as authorized by Guest's approval of the terms of the Rental Agreement.

Reservations may be canceled more than 30 days prior to check-in with full refund. 14 to 29 days prior to arrival 50% refund. No refunds will be issued after this cut-off date for any reason. No refunds will be issued due to weather conditions, spotty internet service or interruption of service.

This is a great spot for a group of friends or family. The views are incredible, there's lots of indoor and outdoor space for relaxing, and the kitchen is well-stocked for group meals.

A very nice stay

My daughter, dogs, and I all enjoyed our stay. Great view of the Santa Christos, deer, and night sky. Cabin is well appointed and we loved having the windows open at night.

Awesome place to stay

We had a great time—such a cool cabin. Our favorite part was the big yard and deck. We played yard games and ate food outside at the big table. The inside was clean and well-decorated!

Amazing Getaway near the Arkansas River!

This was a perfect home base for fishing the Ark with views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains and frequent wildlife visits. We were blessed with perfect weather and amazing fishing. This area of Colorado is really something special and it did not disappoint.

Perfect Summer Basecamp

Pretty views

We loved the place. Amazing views of the mountains. Close to skiing and the town of Salida. Salida DT has lots of restaurants, hiking and is a pretty little town. The house was a nice place to stay, clean and well decorated. WiFi is fast, tv is a projector and has streaming. The master bedroom was large with a king bed that was comfy. Having our dog was awesome, pets were one of the reasons we picked this house. We loved the area and enjoyed our stay.

Peace and quiet with a view!

This property was just as described. It was large enough for our family of four and our dog. The house was clean and the surroundings were peaceful. The only other souls we saw were the deer that walked quietly by the house each day. This is a wonderful place for a quiet getaway.

First Family Vaca

We had an amazing time. It was our first full family vacation, not just a weekend getaway. The views from the front deck make this cabin an amazing stay. The cabin is older so it has some creaks but had nearly everything we needed for the week. It was close enough to everything we had planned for the week to keep us busy. We did lose power because of inclement weather so it made things a little spooky out in the wilderness but we were able to get more supplies after texting which made things much cozier for the rest of the stay.

Wonderful, private cabin in the mountains

Whiskey River was as beautiful as shown in the photos. It was cozy, comfortable, and a wonderful retreat. It met the needs of my "I need to get up in the mountains!!" itch. Not a complaint, but an FYI: the outdoor 'Edison bulb' lights stopped working. We left them unplugged. Not sure if there was a circuit tripped (we couldn't find a breaker panel to check). The kitchen faucet is getting loose: may want to tighten it up, so it works better. The instructions for the pellet stove and projector are out-dated. We figured it all out, but had to do our own research. There is also no dishwasher, though the instructions say to start it upon leaving the premises. Again, not complaining -- just providing information on our stay. I gave only four stars for cleanliness: there were several dirty dishes in the cabinets and silverware drawer. We had to wash everything prior to use, because they were filthy. We were shocked to find these items in the otherwise clean, tidy place. We know we left the dishes cleaner than we found them (scrubbed off cooking/baked-on grime from several pots and pans). We left some of our own coffee for the next guest to use. (Only one pot was complimentary? Seriously?) Other than the dirty dishes and the FYI items mentioned above, we very much enjoyed our stay, and the service and communication we received from Pinon.

Adorable cabin and fabulous property

We loved everything about this property! The cabin was just adorable and newly redone it seems. It was decorated so nicely! It was very clean and well stocked. The property was very private with a great view! Our grandsons loved roaming the property. Would definitely recommend and stay here again!
