Unfortunately I cannot recommend The Standard. Upon checking in, there was a glass in the bathroom that had about an inch of water in it so clearly not clean. I went up to the rooftop and asked the lady at the bar to fill my water bottle up with ice, as I had just put room temperature water in it from my room, she did so and said nothing to me. I then asked her for a lunch menu which she gave me while also saying nothing to me. I ordered lunch which was brought to me on the sun bed by the pool. 2 hours latter after reading, and listening to a podcast - no one came to collect. It had started to smell from the sour cream being in the sun. Not once did any staff come to the guests on the sun beds and ask did we want anything. After returning from a day out, I noticed a shaving razor in my bathroom, that was not mine - I do not use them! I had not noticed it there before so it concerned me someone had been in my room. I called the front desk and they took it away. Management were adamant to me that it was not from housekeeping and no one had entered my room - but things cannot just appear!

It’s outrageous for The Standard to consider itself a 5* hotel. For context, I believe I’ve been fortunate to have stayed in 30+ 5• hotels in the last 3 years and this is by far the worst. Decor is bland for a 5*, verging on sterile. It’s clear that what The Standard lacks in quality, amenities, service and all of the usual 5* differentiators it desperately tries to make up for in ‘cool’ but fails miserably. I have stayed at The Standard in NYC on several occasions and booked The Standard Ibiza expecting a similar (5*) experience. Appearance is minimalist using good quality materials for furniture etc. but just doesn’t hit the mark. Soundproofing is non-existent and this is Ibiza! Take earplugs. One small bottle of water in the room that was never replenished (we had to request).

Good hotel with great breakfast

Second time staying at The Standard. An overall lovely hotel experience with nice interior, breakfast and drinks. Shout out to really nice products in the room. First time it was just after the opening, with a bigger room facing the backyard. Compared to our first visit, this time was less excellent although the service was much better in the restaurant. Unfortunately there was noise from other guests and from the street this time at night. Also we chose The Standard expecting it was adults only. Maybe this changed since first visit, at least there were several kids including a loud kid at the rooftop, prohibiting a pleasant time in the sun.

Great hotel. Clean, safe and welcoming. Good restaurant and a 24/7 gym. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I'll definitely come back. The only area of improvement can be the firmness of the bed mattress and pillows. They were a little soft.
