The property has been in the owners family since the 1500s. The place was rustic and quaint. Very quiet. It is literally in the middle of the woods. We were there for Ironman race in Lahti, so it was a bit far out for the event. There is limited accommodations in Lahti for an event this size. As a result we just slept there and kept our things there. The price was reasonable for the property.
The only issue we had was with Interhome who is the manager of the rental. Communication was a nightmare. After the rental was finalized they hit us with a 30 euro charge for towels and sheet rental and a 50euro change for a final cleaning. I can guarantee that the land owner saw none of that. Interhome insisted that I could not pay that in cash to the owner claiming that he was only a âkey holderâ which was a lie. The fee had to be paid allegedly through an international wire transfer which for Americans is not common. They finally needed that fee so badly they sent a link I could pay with my credit card. The towels and bedding are well worn. I would have gladly paid the owner so that he could buy newer ones for his guests. In the future I will avoid rentals managed by Interhome. As for this property, it was fine for us to sleep there. The owner had to bring us water from his well. He told us that there was an issue with the well it apparently had dirt in the water from the tap. We just bought a couple jugs after we finished what he provided.
