The Sanctuary 14 acres w/ private pond/trails in beautiful Brown County

Come and enjoy a getaway from the busy world to a quiet home in the woods. You can enjoy the large gathering room overlooking a beautiful pond that is surrounded by trees. Take a ride on the paddle boat and throw your fishing line in to catch catfish, bluegill, and wide mouth bass. Eleven acres of trails make for a nice nature walk. In the cold , you can enjoy your cup of coffee by the fireplace that's in the large room we call, The sanctuary. In the hot summers you will be able to go swimming in the pond. If you enjoy kayaking, we have a kayak you can take out and experience a relaxing time on the water. This is not just a vacation home but it is a vacation destination. This is a getaway for any seasons. The Brown County fall season is something everyone should experience and this the perfect property to take it all in.

Guests will enjoy staying at our place The Sanctuary. We have a beautiful house where each bedroom has its own bathroom. The gathering space is a great place to relax, look out the windows and door by the fire. Take your drinks outside to the large porch and deck. You can sit in a rocking chair or have dinner on the large table on the porch. We live close to a Dollar General. Nashville is a 10 minute drive and is full of shopping, eating and exploring.

The house was very nice for a big group. I like that there were two separate living rooms, one near the back bedrooms so that you could get some quiet if you wanted to. There was one bedroom near the front of the house, and three bedrooms in the hallway towards the back of the house. The bedrooms were very quiet. I love that each bedroom had its own bathroom, which was a big reason I picked this house. A few critiques -The house could use more cozy lighting, such as lamps on the tables. My 3 year old loved playing on the playset outside, but the slide was very steep. Was I tried to go hiking on the property, but the trail wasn’t well marked and I ended up just wandering through the woods. Those things are minor, and overall, I really enjoyed our stay here.

For our family get away we throughly enjoyed this property. The home was clean, beds very comfortable, kitchen well stocked, 2 living spaces, a large kitchen for all to gather in and a large space outside to play. The kids had fun on the paddle boards and kayak. We had some rainy weather. When it was nice out we played outside on the property and went to Brown County State Park to hike. When it rained we played games inside. Kids loved the bunkbed room!

IU Graduation

House is totally clean and spacious and secluded if you’re looking for peace and quiet. Gorgeous porch to relax on and large family room for group gatherings. Comfortable furniture and beds.We were in town for IU graduation in Bloomington and this was a little bit of a hike for that, but that’s on us for not thinking that distance through.

Amazing home in an amazing location

This was the second time that my group of girlfriends stayed here for a girls’ weekend. The house is on a beautiful piece of land and has a perfect set up for a gathering of friends. The homeowners are amazing - very responsive and helpful. We’re already planning to come back next year.

Wonderful Retreat

Our family of 8 gathered from San Diego, Atlanta, and Cincinnati to celebrate parents 70th anniversary. The home is spacious with 4 private bedrooms and baths (even the bunk room was comfortable). Check in was easy and the home was clean, kitchen stocked with essentials and more, living and dining areas easily accommodated us. The location is convenient to tours of Columbus architecture, downtown Nashville and to both entrances of Brown County State Park as well as a rural drag strip with local color. We enjoyed the fire pit and a meandering one mile hike through the 14 acre woods. Runners will appreciate low traffic roads and rolling hills with shady tree lined sections. I'd like to return with our kids and grandkids.

Relaxing Friend Time

We r a group of 4 couples who recently stayed in the aptly named “Sanctuary “ for a 3day, 3 night yearly get-together. The property is very beautiful & relaxing with the pond & sweeping back yard providing excellent views from the 2 porches. The home was very accommodating, well stocked and clean. 4 bedrooms & 4 bathrooms. Super easy checkin and out, seating for all 8 of us whatever room or area we were in. Large kitchen for cooking. The owners were extremely responsive. This was the perfect property for us to rent!

Truly a Sanctuary

The home and property were beautiful and peaceful. The layout of the house was perfect for 6 adults. Plenty of space for everyone. Clean, comfortable, well stocked and maintained. Location is just 10 minutes to town but still tucked away. The covered porch was perfect with a great view of the lake and property. We all loved it and would definitely go back.
