Stunning property
We arrived at The Artists Cottage and were immediately impressed. Getting access to the property with the key details was super easy and the cottage itself didn’t disappoint. The artwork throughout and all the features in the property made it so special. We have never stayed in a place like it! The cottage was surrounded by beautiful scenery and wildlife. The views from the windows were stunning. It is also situated well, near to the A9 which allows for easy access to many places to visit. Justin, who owns the cottage, was so helpful. He contacted us the day before with some recommendations and made it clear we could contact him if we had any issues - which we didn’t. The beds were comfy, the kitchen was well equipped and there was everything we needed for a very enjoyable week stay.

Unique lodging in great location between Inverness and Lochs.
Lovely architectural details throughout the home - clean and a good amount of of space. Extra pillows and blankets for every bed but house was perfectly warm. Easy instructions for entry and overall great house and location. Note that "en suite" means that you need to walk through the next bedroom to get to the bathroom. Nice laundry room and while we don't have a dog, thought the dog room with beds was cute. Clean kitchen that came equipped with sponges, dishwasher pods, electric kettle - but other than salt, pepper, and a little cooking oil - no other basics. I don't know if its is by design or it needs repair that only the cold tap on the powder room faucet works and it seems that the instructions for turning on the oven - is literally the only oven feature that works. Alas - we made due. : ) Loved having a walking path right across the street. Also - amazing hike taking road to south while not far from Inverness to north. Be sure to plan groceries ahead and there does not seem to be local shops (need to head to Inverness).

Fantastic family holiday
We had a wonderful week over half term at 'The Artist's Cottage'. It was a beautiful place to stay and well equipped. We were very lucky with the weather and were able to sit out most evenings where we were lucky enough to see rabbits, ducks, deer, birds of prey and even a little weasel in the garden! The beds were very comfortable and the house was lovely and light with all the big windows. Justin was very helpful with any queries we had and there was lots of useful information regarding local places to visit and eat. The location is excellent - feels very rural (there are some community woodlands just across the road) but only about 20 minutes drive from Inverness. We explored lots in the local area but always enjoyed coming back to the cottage for a relaxing evening. The house felt like a very special place to stay. We had visited the Rennie Mackintosh museum in Glasgow on the way up and it felt like a continuation of the experience. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Incredible home in the country
We only got to stay a week and it wasn't nearly long enough.. At least we had an incredible house to stay in. The artist's cottage is an incredible house located in the country, and is worth every penny.. It was a perfect setting with plenty of wildlife around. We are from a small town in Missouri, so this was a perfect house and setting for us. We loved the house and the neighborhood.. Can't say enough good things about it.

The Artists Cottage
It is a remote very comfortable Spacious property set amongst lovely countryside with views to die for. In the early morning we saw a selection of wild life (deer, rabbits, foxes to name but a few). The owner is very helpful (We had a problem with the oven when we were there but he quickly resolved that by supplying another oven) .On the picky side the garden needs weeding / cut back and the property could definitely do with some garden furniture ( Garden Table and chairs to allow people to sit outside on a nice day - Currently there is no garden furniture of any kind and consequently no where to sit outside). Inverness, Nairn, Aviemore and Fort Augustus are all within easy reach by car and we had a great holiday .One Final point is we never managed to get the local shop open - We went several times but each time it was closed and there was a notice which said that due to COVID19 the shop would only be open for a short time in the morning but it did not say what times it would be open. So make sure that you have enough essential provisions like milk and bread otherwise its a run into Inverness .

Unique Place - Fantastic
Unique and lovely property in a gorgeous and quiet setting but in close proximity. We love Charles Rennie MackIntosh designs, to stay in a property designed by him was a pleasure. The property is very well appointed and very much a bespoke ''home'' rather than just a holiday let. The only slight downside is the very small bathrooms, but it is strictly by the original design and no major issue for a weeks staycation. The owner Justin was a real nice guy too. Lovely place for a weeks unwind, thank you for sharing this individual and awesomely designed home !!
