Renovated Bungalow with Cozy Gas Fireplace
Relax with the family in our 100-year-old bungalow. We offer 3 bedrooms, sleeping 6. The interior is newly remodeled, including new central heat and air. As with any older home, it's not perfect. We are still sprucing up the outside. There is a private paved driveway for your convenience. You will enter the large living room, complete with hardwood floors and a limestone gas fireplace. There is a designated workspace featuring a desk. Two bedrooms include plush queen-size beds. The third bedroom has a twin over full bunk bed. We have provided a high chair and pack 'n play to make traveling with children easier. The kitchen is complete with stove, refrigerator, Keurig, microwave, and dishes needed to help you prepare home-cooked meals during your stay. Enjoy the quiet neighborhood while relaxing on the porch swing on the large cozy front porch. Our home is 3 blocks from the largest town square in the U.S. It is also a short bike ride from the Lehigh Portland Trails and the Prairie Spirit Trail State Park. Iola is the home of Allen Community College.
The house was so comfortable and had everything one might need for a great stay in Iola. The kitchen had plenty of cooking supplies. Beds were very comfortable and tv channel and livestream options were great. We were there during the holiday season and the house had plenty of Christmas decorations, including a lighted tree. Enjoyed our stay very much!
Everything in the home is description is accurate! We enjoyed the front porch in the morning! The home has Roku and Dish Cable so we were able to watch the Chiefs game!
This property was perfect, as close to home as you can get and very clean.
We had plenty of space to allow our grandchildren to spend the night with us while we were there.
We are looking forward to booking again for our return trip in the fall or next summer.
Love love this houseâclose to the square (walking distance); super clean and decorated so cute; lots of little touches throughout âhosts are super responsive and welcoming! Weâve stayed there 4 years in a row bc we love the location and layout. And love the front porchâwe drink coffee out there each morning and enjoy the slower paceâŠ
Grams, Papa, Mom, Dad, granddaughter, and grandson all stayed and turkey hunted at a nearby farm. What a great place to relax, play, and enjoy a meal together after a morning of hunting!!
The hosts were awesome and very responsive and Iâm so happy I found this house. Three good sized bedrooms and a nicely stocked kitchen. That is the up side. The down side is that the house is very old and I think itâs kind of falling apart. Also, I kind of think that the neighborhood is a little rough but honestly probably perfectly safe because it is such a little town. You will need to bring paper towels and toilet paper. Paper towels because there were none and toilet paper because the house has single ply dollar store stuff. Lol Donât look under the master bedroom bed, itâs pretty dusty which made me giggle a little bit! Over all it was a good experience and MUCH MUCH MUCH better that any hotel in town.
This 3bdrm bungalow did not disappoint!! I've stayed at many vrbo and this is the first with a crock pot. It's the little things that make a big difference. The place was very clean, decorated beautifully and had all the extras that make you stay comfortable and like home. I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay there again!
The lock was not easy to use and locked us out after three or four tries. I communicated with Bill on the website and he was great to call me back. He had a great back up plan.
The main reason my sister and I rented the bungalow vs a hotel was the fireplace. I donât want to be negative, but after we had to call Bill to talk us through the start up, we were frustrated. He was great and sent his friend to start the fireplace. The âfireplaceâ shuts off after a couple of minutes and then it starts back up after about 15 minutes.đđ At that point, we turned the furnace on. It was so loud it was difficult to communicate.
We didnât even try the TV situation which was fine. We had much to catch up with each other.
The reviews were âcleanâ when we booked. The kitchen counter is so scratched and does not scream âcleanâ in the least. And Iâm glad they had two leather chairs to sit in as we were not going to sit in the couch or love seat.
The beds were comfortable. Again, Bill did communicating with us.
Clean, well appointed and even had a very nice lit Christmas tree. Quiet older neighborhood and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. You can tell that the renovation was well thought out. The location was very central to the town and easy in and easy out. Thumbs up.
This property was just lovely. It was very clean and comfortable in a nice, quiet neighborhood. The owners were great and I would gladly stay here again.
Place was really nice and clean. Was all we needed as we were just staying the night to move our son into college the next day. Only complaint is neighbors dogs (not sure which ones) had dogs outside that barked the entire night. Other than that the place is perfect
Loved the houseâlots of small touches like coffee and candy that made our stay more enjoyable and convenient. Misty and Bill are super responsive to any question.
We already re-booked for next summer!
