Very basic hotel in a quaint little French town. Great location for excursions into Carentan, Utah Beach, etc. Worth the very reasonable cost. Village shopping area just a few steps away for necessities.

Staff is mixed: First night we were greeted by a friendly helpful woman. Next morning we had someone (the proprietor?) very distracted and easily annoyed. The menu du jour dinner at 20 euro was okay - a tartine with red pepper and chorizo, chicken with mushroom cream sauce, and tarte tatin. The breakfast at 10 euro was a ripoff - you get better for free at Holiday Inn Express. There were a few low quality slices of ham, leftover Isigny brie and a chunk of emmental, the usual cups of fruit and plain yogurt, granola, and a few boxes of corn flakes. Coffee was terrible, there was no milk to be found, either for the coffee or the cereal. Had to catch the distracted There was a bowl of fruit, with one of the oranges covered with mold. There were maybe four or five plain croissants from the local bakery as well as a baguette. I had a baguette with the Isigny butter and some of the low quality jelly plus the croissant. I always try to go for the local experience but in this case, we would've been better off going to the nearby McDonald's. Wifi did not reach our room. There's no elevator. Don't park in blue delineated parking zones or you'll get ticketed.

It was a good location for visiting Omaha beach and the military cemeteries. Mont Saint Michel was an hour and a half drive away, but the drive was pleasant and certainly worth it.

The small hotel was in a great location for experiencing D-Day events in both directions. The reception staff was really friendly. I gave them my last name, and they addressed me by my first without looking at my reservation, as if they had been expecting me; service like that doesn't really exist anymore. The town is small, but it has a convenient store that is open late, and a cafe, bakery, and pub all on the same street within a couple doors of each other. The room was small, but we were only there to sleep. The bathroom was very spacious. The room was rather warm, and we were on the first floor, so keeping the windows open wasn't really an option for us. The beds were comfortable. The hotel has its own restaurant, but we didn't have time to eat there. Overall, a great stay, and would return if in the area.

Quick Weekend Normandy Trip

We had a tour of the Normandy area and this was a great location for accessing the different historical sites. But since we were there in the winter not much in the way of restaurants was open.

Quaint and charming

Quaint and full of character. Definitely recommend. Small town close to everything in Normandy. Not a five star hotel, but comfortable clean and full of charm.

Quaint hotel close to Normandy beaches.

A little disappointed based on reading others reviews. Had somewhat difficult time conversing in English with the staff. Paid for a triple room, but only got a double. Restaurant was nice, but eventually went elsewhere to find more affordability. Location was close both to Utah and Omaha beaches, which was good for us.
