Other Things to Note:
What to bring with you!- You're coming to a wilderness area to vacation and if you plan your vacation well you will have a positive experience. In the summertime May and through the middle of June can tend to be cooler early morning and toward the evening hours. Make sure to bring a jacket and long pants you can change into when needed. Bring a pair of tie up shoes to protect your feet. Shoes likes flip flops or sandals will not protect your feet when you are out exploring. Layering your clothing is a good idea and then if your too warm you can take off clothing as needed. At least this way when departing your cabin early morning to go site seeing you will have what you need with you. July and August are pretty warm and you should still bring a light jacket. The rest of the year you will want to bring heavier jackets and long underwear, snow suits etc. You will need to bring your private toiletries like bar soap and shampoo as we do not provide this for you. Cabins are equipped with everything else you should need except food of course. Snow tires and four-wheel-drive are recommended for traveling in Eastern Idaho during the winter. Road conditions can change quickly, and even well-traveled highways are occasionally closed by blizzards or high winds. Before setting out, check the Transportation Department's website or call 511 for an automated, up-to-the-minute status of all thoroughfares. Wise motorists will also carry emergency gear (shovel, snack bars, water, blankets) in their vehicles to be ready for any contingency. Coming Snowmobiling? A reminder to anyone traveling back country areas whether skiing, snowmobiling or hiking: Remember the time of year, exercising all back country cautions. Take necessary equipment and survival gear when venturing into the back country. If you have a GPS and cell phone, be sure to take them with you, but do not rely on them entirely for a safe rescue if you find yourself in trouble or stranded. Cell phones should be kept close to your body & turned off to keep the battery full, so it's not searching for a signal & running the battery down. Avalanche Transceivers and equipment, knowing what the avalanche conditions are, and knowing skills to save lives are a must for everyone entering back country riding or traveling. Plan ahead. Make sure you know the area you are going into before heading into it. If you find yourself in trouble, stop, take a look around you, and do not go any further. The further you go the more complicated and dangerous it is to get yourself to safety, also making rescue efforts more difficult and dangerous. Make mental notes in relation to any physical features or landmarks that would assist in your rescue. Make a plan, stick to your plan, narrow the riding area, & most of all...let someone know WHERE you are planning to go!

The cabin was very comfortable, clean and welcoming. We had everything we needed for our stay and had a great time. We would definitely stay there again.
Nice clean cabin, everything worked great. Close to the rivers, lake, and the little grocery store that has most everything you need. Only con is the distance to Yellowstone, it was 40 minutes each way. But overall I would definitely stay there again with my family.
Enjoyed staying at the Mangy Moose. Very comfortable and functional. The only issue is that the front door keypad would not work after the first day. Contacted the property manager and it took two days for someone to come out to the property to replace the batteries. Otherwise, it was great.
This is a beautiful house but nothing about it would make me stay again. Biggest issue is the water is brown. We received an email shortly before arriving suggesting we bring our own water. We had been on the road 23 hours at this point. We chose this place for the washer/dryer and kitchen, both which we werenât comfortable using due to water issue. I write this in hopes owners will make changes, not to be negative. No instructions on how to use fireplace or tv. The on switch was missing from fireplace. HVAC difficult to discern. Although we had no problems, older/disabled people would have trouble getting in/out of master tub and probably bed. Shower curtain doesnât wrap all the way closed on tub so hard to keep water in and cold air out. No closet in master bedroom. It really is a pretty house but lacked all the welcoming extras of other bnbs where we have stayed. I suggest rewriting instructions to not be so unpleasant. Add list of places to eat. Add the nice extras to make visitors feel welcome.
Very impressed with home upon arrival. Found many issues after short time of arrival. Notified property management and they sent handy man to fix what could be initially. Couch was broken in area for tv watching (less than comfortable) furniture in main area very worn, no TV in that room, dining window was broken, lights flicker horribly and are not usable in more than one area unless you want a major migraine. Light in laundry/half bath was not working at all and wasnât able to be fixed for our stay, moved a lamp in there. Handle in master bath literally fell off (they fixed that) the shower curtain in master buckles constantly, have to be very careful. Bring your own cooking utensils, has a mish mash of items but I found it less than desirable for cooking. Home is absolutely beautiful but the need for maintenance certainly detracted from its beauty. In spite of all of this it was a great location for accessing the park and we did see a momma moose with her baby just a short way down the road in the river. The home served its purpose but was not as great an experience as weâve had with VRBO in the past!
Great cabin for a group. Access was easy and directions clear and accurate. Could have used some more garbage bags and dishwasher odor controlled a bit better. Everything was nice and worked well. Property manager might want to check out lights flickering or not operable. Great cabin highly recommend and would stay again.
It was a amazing cabin and it had everything needed for a great family adventure to the Island Park / Yellowstone area. A little later checkout time would have been nicer but all-n-all great time had by all.
