Elk Lake Lodge is a beautiful log cabin with stunning views of Henry's Lake and Sawtelle Mountain and is only 20 miles to West Yellowstone! Come relax and enjoy this family friendly retreat perfectly situated to soak in legendary Idaho sunsets every evening! With year round access, you can enjoy the legendary snowfall by snowmobile on over 900 miles of groomed trails or come during the popular summer months of gorgeous weather where the list of activities, historic sites and nature to see is endless.
Our clean and well maintained cabin is approximately 2950sq ft. with a walk out basement and main floor balcony that overlooks Henry's Lake. With 6 private bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, everyone in your group will have a comfy room to retire to, but will also have plenty of room to mingle together in the 2 large common areas - both with large screen TVs.

This gorgeous area is a huge outdoor playground! Aside from the fishing, snowmobiling, boating, ATV-riding, hiking, horseback riding, rodeos, cross country skiing, bird watching, hunting and touring; Island Park's scenic and historical sites are some of the other popular activities. There are Outfitters for nearly every activity along with plenty of maps and guide books for the visitor who wants to experience Island Park on their own. Nearby Yellowstone Park is one of the main draws of the area where you could spend a wonderful day or even multiple days exploring! Henry's Lake is world famous for its fishing and it's not uncommon to catch 7 pound trout out of this lake. It also boasts its own fish hatchery quite near the cabin that help produce and replenish the fish habitat.

Great family vacation

The cabin was perfect for our large family vacation. It comfortably fit 5 teenagers and 7 adults. Great views, comfortable beds and a very well stocked pantry. Sharie is great, and will help you with any questions you have about the cabin and surrounding area. We loved drinking coffee while enjoying the magnificent view of Henry's Lake. 10 out of 10 in our book!

Wonderful vacation

This property was by far the cleanest and most well stocked homes we have ever stayed in! The location and views were perfect! Would definitely recommend this home for Yellowstone vacationers who want to be away from all of the tourist and traffic !

Amazing Cabin

We could not have asked for more. The view from the front porch is amazing. The cabin was stocked with anything that we needed to make our stay as cozy as could be. As soon as you walked in, it feel like home. The location is a short 20-minute drive to West Yellowstone and the park enterance. It was a perfect location to feel like you could disconnect and be part of nature. Sharie was a great host. She goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. Thank you Sharie! We are already talking about our next trip and hope to stay at the cabin again.

Super clean, large house within easy distance to Yellowstone

We loved our stay. The house was super clean, communication with the host were a breeze, the kitchen is well stocked (including a pantry with various spices and dry goods). We cooked and grilled every day, and absolutely appreciated the nicely sized eat-in kitchen and a good selection of pans/pots/utensils. The kids enjoyed the pool table downstairs, and the campfires with the lake/mountain backdrop were magical. The beds are comfy, the towels are plenty and of good quality. The wifi worked well. The mountain and lake views are stunning and we loved the breakfasts we took on the enormous deck. In general - it was one of the best houses we have ever stayed at. The house is an easy 20-25 min drive to Yellowstone. The road has its own charm and views so it doesn't feel like a commute. The host provided 2 cans of bear spray, which we took with us daily (but fortunately didn't have to use). There are also plenty of guide books in the house. If we're ever in that area again, we wouldn't hesitate to be back. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Awesome cabin for our group of 13

Awesome cabin which was very comfortable for our group of 13. The recreation room on the lower level allowed the younger kids to have their own TV to watch DVDs or Netflix without bothering the others in the upstairs living room. Pool table was a real bonus. Little things made a huge difference, for example, pans were high quality no stick surfaces. The grill was large and very, very clean. Pantry was well stocked with more spices than we have at home! Property manager was very responsive. We would definitely stay here again.

Yellowstone Vacation

The house was perfect for our group (6 parents, 7 adult children). Gorgeous views. We enjoyed the sunrise & sunset on the deck every day. You can see the Grand Tetons in the distance. Great spot for Family

We had a large group varying in ages. House had space for everyone. Location provided great view overlooking Henry Lake. It was easy access to West Yellowstone, about a 25 minute ride. Property manager was quick to respond to any questions. I would recommend this property.

Love this place!

We absolutely love this property. View is beautiful, house is very spacious and has everything in it to make it feel like home. It was very clean and communication with the property manager was a piece of cake. Would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful cabin with amazing views!

Our family LOVED this cabin. It was roomy, clean, and met all our needs. The downstairs game room with huge bean bag was a hit! We played pool and enjoyed the views! It was great to have a spacious laundry room for washing towels and clothes during the week. There was a keurig and a full sized coffee pot with lots of mugs that kept our coffee-drinking crew happy while relaxing and taking in the surreal view. The ride to West Yellowstone wasn’t bad at all, and the entrance to the park was close as well! We are beyond satisfied with our VRBO experience! Thank you for a dream vacation!

Great Family Trip!

The property was spacious with beautiful views of the mountains! The location was ideally close to Yellowstone! After long days hiking in the park, the back porch was a nice place to relax taking in the scenery and occasional elk . The pool table was a nice addition to unwind! The owner was very easy to communicate with! Overall amazing stay!

Great location with an amazing view

Our family had a wonderful stay in this cabin. We all really enjoyed the unobstructed lake and mountain views. The location is hard to beat with being so close to the park and the ample bedrooms allowed everyone to have their own space which is always appreciated. We'll definitely be staying here again.

Perfect Family Getaway!

This cabin was so great, and was perfect for a little get away! It was super easy to get too, and had plenty of parking. The cabin was clean and ready to go upon our arrival. It was really spacious, with three bedrooms upstairs and three downstairs, we never felt on top of each other. The beds were all comfortable, the bedding was new and updated. All the bathrooms had plenty of bath towels, and with a full washer and dryer, we never were out of clean linens. The kitchen was fully stocked, it had everything we needed to prepare a meal, there was even a BBQ for our use too. The cabin décor was charming and gave it a fun vibe. We loved all the photos of the wildlife from the area. The downstairs family room was fun, it had a pool table, a nice new sofa and a huge TV, which our kids loved! It was nice for them to hangout down there and give us adults some quiet time upstairs. The WIFI was great, we didn't have any issues with it. Our kids were even able to log on and do some remote learning from school while we were there! West Yellowstone was only 20 minutes away, it came in handy to go out to eat and also pick up a few groceries. Our favorite thing about this cabin was THE VIEW! We loved having our morning coffee in the living room watching the sun come up over the hills. It has a great view of Henry's lake and also the Grand Tetons, it makes for stunning sunsets too! The cabin Manager was great, all her check-in instructions came in handy, and she was very quick to respond to some of the questions we had. The only downside was that we didn't stay longer.. we will definitely be booking this place again!

Island Park / Yellowstone family adventure

This cabin was just what we were looking for to accommodate our family with grand kids. The layout of the cabin was perfect, everyone had their own private bedrooms while the kids had fun being together in theirs. The grand kids could watched their shows while we watched movies on a nice big tv downstairs. The kitchen had everything we needed including a BBQ on the deck. The view was amazing. It looks over Henry's Lake, Sawtelle Peak, you could even see the Grand Tetons. It was very convenient to Yellowstone. We would definitely go back.
