A basic hostel experience with hotel pricing. The ‘hotel’ is in desperate need of modernisation, it’s beyond tired. The mattress was old and uncomfortable, the shower barely delivered any water and the breakfast was at best basic. I can see the owner is trying yet appears to lack the money to manage the upkeep.

Whilst the staff were lovely, as was the food, the hotel needs a little bit of TLC. The headboard on my bed was loose and the bathroom shower had a bit of mould on both the shower curtain and the shower roof. My room was also directly in front of the road and the traffic seemed to go on and on all night.

Good accommodation, friendly staff. Beds were a bit old and uncomfortable and there was only one pillow. Food was excellent.

Nice quiet accommodation & lovely clean room. Everything you need in the room and fantastic breakfast. Will definitely stay again if we are in the area. Great hard working & friendly staff as well. Thank you for a lovely overnight stay.

Nostalgia?

Great staff, great food. If you are looking for nostalgia then the room we had provided this with Formica panels in the very small en-suite complete with broken fixtures and a good deal of mold on the ceiling. The shower provides for good water saving as the flow was just sufficient to rinse off the soap. The bed was soft enough to enable the springs to make their presence be known and the bedroom ceiling has a large water leak stain. Took me back to the 70’s.

OK, but a little over-priced

Arrived late. Bar was OK. Service was good. I had a room on the front street which was stiflingly hot and the noise on the street wouldn't let me open the windows.
